Abstract:
A personal electronic carrier device (PECD) comprising means for receiving PECD data; means for storing PECD data; means for transmitting PECD data directly or indirectly PECD; and operating software means to effect the receiving, storing and transmitting the PECD data. The PECD is part of a network having a plurality of data stations and preferably a main data base. The PECD data is selected from the group consisting of medical, educational and identification data. The networks provide for the efficacious and convenient handling of data.

Water dispersible compressed tablets and a process for preparing the same. The tablet comprising about 0.1 to 50% w/w of lamotrigine or its pharmaceutically acceptable salts, solvates, hydrates or polymorphs, about 5 to about 50% w/w of a water-soluble diluent(s), about 15 to about 70% w/w of a water swellable diluent(s), optionally one or more pharmaceutically acceptable adjuvants, wherein the ratio of water-soluble diluent(s) to water swellable diluents(s) is from about 0.6 to about 0.9 and said composition is essentially free of disintegrant, superdisintegrant and swellable clay.
Abstract:
A manufacturing execution system for manufacturing a product is provided. The manufacturing execution system includes a manufacturing execution plan having a set of manufacturing steps to be executed for manufacturing the product, a planning component for determining a data collection plan of data to be collected during the execution of one of the manufacturing steps, a service interface for providing the data collection plan in response to a service request, and a database for storing data that has been collected in accordance with the determined data collection plan.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a manufacturing execution system comprising: a manufacturing execution plan being indicative of a set of manufacturing steps to be executed for manufacturing a product, a planning component for determining a context-specific data collection plan of data to be collected during execution of one of the manufacturing steps, a service interface for providing the data collection plan in response to a service request, a database for storing data that has been collected in accordance with a context-specific data collection plan
Abstract:
Polypeptides derived from Ophiophagus hannah (king cobra) are disclosed together with their use in the treatment of disease, disorder or pathological condition in a patient in need of treatment. The polypeptides disclosed are functionally characterised by their ability to reduce the mammalian heart rate and/or their β-antagonist activity.
Abstract:
In a first aspect, the process includes utilizing a precursor medium comprising particles and a nongaseous precursor to form product nanoparticles having a core/shell structure. In another aspect, the process includes utilizing an emulsion precursor medium comprising a nongaseous precursor and two liquid vehicles, wherein one of the liquid vehicles provides desirable thermal effects upon combustion. In another aspect the flame spray process includes modifying solid particles in a flame spray process to change the phase thereof.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for decreasing flame temperature in a flame spray reaction system, the process comprising the steps of providing a precursor medium comprising a precursor to a component; flame spraying the precursor medium under conditions effective to form a population of product particles; and decreasing the flame temperature by contacting the flame with a cooling medium. The process of the present invention allows for the control of the size, composition and morphology of the nanoparticles made using the process. The invention also relates to a nozzle assembly that comprises a substantially longitudinally extending atomizing feed nozzle that comprises an atomizing medium conduit and one or more substantially longitudinally extending precursor medium feed conduits. The nozzle assembly of the present invention is used in a flame spray system to produce nanoparticles using the processes described herein.
Abstract:
An adsorbent for selective adsorption of unsaturated hydrocarbons from its mixture with saturated hydrocarbons, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, permanent gases or mixture thereof. The adsorbent includes a silver or copper compound in an amount of 1 to 70 wt % and a substrate in 30 to 99% wt %. Also a method for the manufacture of an adsorbent, which includes impregnating or dispersing a silver (I) or copper (I) compound on a mesoporous substrate or support to form a composite material and subjecting the composite material to heat treatment. Also, a process for separating ethylene and/or propylene from gas mixtures containing them by passing a stream of the gas mixture through a mass of the adsorbent at a temperature from 0° C. to 170° C. and a pressure from 0.1 to 100 atmospheres and releasing the adsorbed ethylene and/or propylene by lowering pressure and/or increasing temperature.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are methods and systems for digital media content search and recommendation. The system analyses large number of reviews and creates a metadata attributes which define particular media content. These attributes are based on experience of a large number of people and therefore are representative of a large audience. The system further uses these attributes to recommend media items based on users view history or based on users search parameters. According to the preferred embodiment, the method to execute the present invention is divided into three phases: training, tagging and search and recommendation phase. The training phase includes processing large number of text reviews of a wide range of movies to determine commonly talked about attributes and creates a global attribute dictionary. In tagging phase, each movie is tagged and classified based on the dictionaries and further movies are recommended depending on users search criterion and view history.
Abstract:
A medical device communication method that may be implemented within a variety of medical devices including but not limited to infusion pumps. The method may be implemented with a protocol stack for at least intra-device communication. Embodiments provide connection-oriented, connectionless-oriented, broadcast and multicast data exchange with priority handling of data, fragmentation, and reassembly of data, unique static and dynamic address assignment and hot swap capability for connected peripherals or subsystems.
