    摘要: To gain visiting access to a wireless local area network (W-LAN), the operator of which administers a visitor authentication, authorization and accounting (VAAA) server, a user requesting such access must have a valid cellular mobile account, a portable computing device with a browser and a valid W-LAN card from another operation that administers a home authentication, authorization and accounting (HAAA) server. The user, inputs, via the VAAA server, identity information that enables the HAAA to issue a personal identification number (PIN) which is encoded and forwarded to the user's mobile telephone. This encoded PIN is transferred to the browser to authenticate the requested visiting access, and the costs of such access are billed to the user's cellular mobile account. The requested access is achieved via the user's browser. The user may employ the browser to convey the identity information, to the VAAA via the W-LAN, or via the mobile telephone.

    摘要: Described herein is a method of controlling data flow between a local network (120) and a remote network (30) via a geostationary satellite link (40, 46, 48). The local network (120) comprises a sending host (22) and a connection splitting node (124) which includes a throttling unit (150). The remote network (30) comprises a receiving host (32) which is connected to a second connection splitting node (142) having a buffer (152) via the internet (34). The data flow rate from the local network (120) is throttled to provide a data flow rate which substantially matches that which can be handled by the remote network (30) so that the buffer (152) at the second connection splitting node (142) is not overfilled.

    摘要: A collapsible grip handle for mounting on a truck or trailer has a steel rod mounted between two brackets formed of spring steel. The brackets have an attachment section for fastening to a surface, a spring section which buckles under compressive load, and an attachment section to hold the rod. The entire assembly has a polymer overmold with ribs for slip-resistant gripping and a skirt to prevent the rod from pulling away under tension. The brackets buckle under a compressive load so that the handle bends and returns to the original position when the load is removed.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a telecommunications system, in particular to a telecommunications system which includes a mobile network having a plurality of portable communication devices, and, a fixed network which includes a signaling agent, a plurality of directory agents, and a plurality of spaced apart attachment points to which the mobile network can attach. In use, each directory agent stores a routing table for routing data to a respective mobile communication device associated with that directory agent. When the point of attachment of the mobile network changes, the mobile network sends a change-of-address message to the signaling agent. In response, the signaling agent is configured to forward the change of address to each directory agent, so that each can update its routing table to take into account the changed point of attachment of the mobile network. Because a signaling agent is provided, each potable device need not itself notify its directory agent when the mobile network moves, and the amount of signaling between the mobile network and the fixed network when the mobile network moves is reduced.

    摘要: An electronic control system (24) for a vehicle seat is provided that includes a seat base (12), a seat back (14), an operator input device (30) and a control circuit (26). The seat base has a seat back motor (34) configured to move a seat base forward and backward. The seat back has a seat back motor (32) configured to adjust an angle of inclination of the seat back. The operator input (30) device is configured to received operator commands for movement of the vehicle seat. The control circuit is configured to receive the operator commands and to control the seat base motor and the seat back motor. The control circuit is also configured to move the seat base and the seat back at a ratio of approximately 1 degree of inclination to between approximately 1 mm to approximately 4 mm of forward or backward movement of the seat base.
