Abstract: First user equipment (UE) exchanges at least a portion of data to be transmitted to a communication network with a second UE on a side channel. The UEs then send the data to the network at increased transmission power by using transmit antennas of both the first and second UEs, instead of just those of the first UE. In some cases, the second UE may transmit a variation of the data sent by the first UE to perform transmit diversity and improve signal-to-noise ratio. To avoid unintended beamforming of the transmissions, the network may mix signals (e.g., having a same symbol) received at the same time period but at different sub-carriers, or mix the signals received at different time periods but at the same sub-carrier. The network may notify the UEs of a phase correction value based on the signals, and the UEs may adjust using the phase correction value.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) device may reside in a state of dual connectivity with a master cell group (MCG) and a secondary cell group (SCG), wherein the radio access technologies of the MCG and the SCG are different. While in the dual connectivity state, the UE device may transition to a mode of reduced activity (e.g., processing and/or RF activity) relative to the secondary cell group (SCG) in order to save power, e.g., when traffic flow via the SCG is below a threshold, or when scheduling activity on the SCG is low. Various mechanisms may be employed to reduce activity, e.g., mechanisms such as reduction of beam monitoring, deactivation of secondary cells of the SCG, reduction of number of active antenna elements, employment of longer periods for periodic measurement and reporting processes, etc.

Abstract: Re-connecting to a first radio access network (RAN) of a first radio access technology (RAT) may include initially connecting to the first RAN. A connection associated with a voice call may then be connected that includes connecting to a RAN of a second RAT. In response to the voice call connecting to the second RAN, information for both a frequency and a cell associated with connecting to the first RAN may be stored. An end to the voice call may be identified. In response to determining that the voice call has ended, a timer may be generated at the UE that comprises a specified time period and the timer and the information stored for both the frequency and the cell associated with connecting to the first RAN may be utilized to re-connect to the first RAN.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a wireless device to perform methods to implement mechanisms for non-stand-alone unlicensed band cells that support single carrier capable UEs. A UE may camp on a licensed band cell of a RAN and transmit a request to connect. Abstract: A user equipment (UE) includes first and second subscriber identity modules (SIMs), possibly subscribed to different carriers. When the first SIM is in a connected state and the second SIM is in an idle state, the UE may need to periodically tune away a radio from a first frequency used for communication under the first SIM to a second frequency used for idle mode activity under the second SIM. The UE may provide to the network of the first SIM the second SIMs traffic activity pattern and/or serving frequency so that the network may provide coordinated configuration and/or scheduling for the UE device, e.g., in order to make the action of tuning away (and tuning back) the radio more efficient and/or to decrease the network impact of such radio tune aways (e.g., to decrease wasted uplink scheduling and wasted downlink transmissions for the first SIM).

A wireless device may receive a public warning system indication from a cellular base station during a paging occasion. The public warning system indication may indicate that system information provided by the cellular base station includes a public warning system message. The wireless device may determine whether the public warning system message is a duplicate public warning system message. The wireless device may determine whether to decode the system information including the public warning system message based at least in part on whether the public warning system message is a duplicate public warning system message. The system information including the public warning system message may not be decoded if the public warning system message is determined to be a duplicate public warning system message.
