    摘要: In a fluid machine such as multistage centrifugal compressor, the pressure of a working fluid is raised with the rotation of a impeller. A shaft sealing device is mounted at the end of the rotary shaft in order to prevent the working gas of the raised pressure from leaking out of the fluid machine and then polluting the surroundings. In a case where the fluid machine operates to rotate at high speed, a labyrinth sealing device is employed for the purpose of reducing a frictional loss in the shaft sealing device. The labyrinth sealing device includes a plurality of stages of labyrinth fins which are formed on a casing or the rotary shaft, and a layer of abradable coating to-be-bitten which is formed in the surface part of the rotary shaft or the casing opposing to the labyrinth fins. The clearances between the labyrinth fins and the rotary shaft or the casing are made narrower on the low-pressure side of the labyrinth sealing device than on the high-pressure side thereof. Thus, the fluid machine is run with the minimum clearance. Moreover, even when the coating layer has been lost in contacting the labyrinth fin or by peeling off, the labyrinth fin on the low-pressure side acts as a labyrinth seal.

    摘要: In a vehicle cornering lamp system, a control signal having a pulse width corresponding to a steering angle is periodically produced, and the amount of position shift between the actual direction of illumination of the headlamps and the target direction of illumination determined from the steering angle is detected according to the control signal thus produced. An electric motor is driven to change the direction of illumination of the headlamps so that the amount of position shift becomes zero, that is, the direction of illumination of the headlamps is linearly changed with the electric motor while following the steering angle.

    摘要: A support system supports a garment with minimal contact between the system and the garment. The suspension allows for air-drying of the garment, and also enables debris to fall from the garment. The system comprises at least one rod for providing a supportive structure for the garment. A rod diameter is sized approximately half the diameter of a finger to enable debris from the garment to pass through a space formed between each rod and the garment. The diameter of the rod is less than half the diameter of a finger. The length of each rod can be different. The garment includes garment extension portions that engages correspondingly sized rods. A base tray forms a foundation for the rods. The base tray captures debris that falls from the space between the garment and the rod. Anti-bacterial solutions applied to the rods inhibits transfer of bacteria between garments.

    摘要: An object is to provide gas insulated switchgear that is able to inhibit heat generation of a pressure container. Electrically-conductive members that are non-magnetic and have higher electric conductivity than that of the material of which the pressure container is made, are provided on the inside and on the outside of the pressure container, while being positioned along a main bus and being attached via a flange of the pressure container. Thus, eddy current that occurs when an electric current flows through the main bus are caused to flow through the electrically-conductive members having higher electric conductivity than that of the pressure container. Also, a current return path for the eddy current is formed by a flow path including the electrically-conductive members. Consequently, it is possible to reduce the eddy current flowing on the pressure container and to inhibit an increase in the temperature of the pressure container.

    摘要: A Soft Computing (SC) optimizer for designing a Knowledge Base (KB) to be used in a control system for controlling a motorcycle is described. In one embodiment, a simulation model of the motorcycle and rider control is used. In one embodiment, the simulation model includes a feedforward rider model. The SC optimizer includes a fuzzy inference engine based on a Fuzzy Neural Network (FNN). The SC Optimizer provides Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) structure selection, FIS structure optimization method selection, and teaching signal selection and generation. The user selects a fuzzy model, including one or more of: the number of input and/or output variables; the type of fuzzy inference; and the preliminary type of membership functions. A Genetic Algorithm (GA) is used to optimize linguistic variable parameters and the input-output training patterns. A GA is also used to optimize the rule base, using the fuzzy model, optimal linguistic variable parameters, and a teaching signal. The GA produces a near-optimal FNN. The near-optimal FNN can be improved using classical derivative-based optimization procedures. The FIS structure found by the GA is optimized with a fitness function based on a response of the actual plant model of the controlled plant. The SC optimizer produces a robust KB that is typically smaller that the KB produced by prior art methods.

The motor casing, a first-stage compressor casing, which cooperates with the first-stage compressor impeller to form a first-stage compressor, and a second-stage compressor casing, which cooperates with the second-stage compressor impeller to form a second-stage compressor, are cast into an integral construction. This integral casing is further formed integrally with an intermediate cooler, disposed downstream of the first-stage compressor, and a discharge cooler disposed downstream of the second-stage compressor. The intermediate cooler and the discharge cooler are disposed below the motor casing in generally parallel relation to the rotation shaft, and the main portions of the two-stage centrifugal compressor are combined into a compact, generally rectangular parallelepiped configuration.
