The present invention relates to a composition, comprising a binder resin, a block copolymer which comprises at least a block A and a block B, wherein the block A comprises monomer units derived from a compound selected from (meth)acrylic acid, a (meth)acrylic acid ester, a (meth)acrylamide, a vinyl aromatic compound, or any mixture thereof, the block B comprises monomer units derived from a compound selected from a fluorinated (meth)acrylic ester having the following formula (I): H2C═C(R1)(C(O)ORF−1) (I) wherein R1 is H or methyl; and RF−1 is an organic residue containing a perfluorinated C4-6 alkyl group, a fluorinated alpha-olefin having the following formula (II): H2C═CH(RF−2) (II) wherein RF−2 is an organic residue containing a perfluorinated C4-6 alkyl group, i.e., —(CF2)3-5—CF3 or any mixture thereof.

The present invention relates to novel polymer compositions, to a process for their manufacturing, to the use of said polymer compositions for modifying the viscosity of aqueous compositions, and to water-borne coating compositions containing the novel polymer compositions as thickeners. The invention relates to a defoamer composition. The invention also relates to a method for reducing or preventing foam in an aqueous composition. The defoamer composition of the invention comprises at least one hydrophobic liquid; and at least one modified polyacrylate polymer. The modified polyacrylate polymer is obtainable by a process comprising 1. polymerizing at least one acrylate monomer selected from substituted or unsubstituted C1-C22 alkyl acrylates, substituted or unsubstituted C4-C22 cycloalkyl acrylates, substituted or unsubstituted C1-C22 acrylamides, esters of acrylic acid with polyalkylether alcohol, or combinations of two or more thereof, to obtain at least one polyacrylate polymer; and 2. modifying the at least one polyacrylate polymer obtained in step (i) by transesterification with at least one alcohol selected from (c1) at least one unsubstituted C8-C36 alcohol, (c2) at least one polyalkylether alcohol, or combinations of two or more thereof.

The presently claimed invention relates to an amine-modified polymer and method for preparation thereof. The presently claimed invention is also directed to the use of the polymer as dispersant in ink and coating compositions. Polyacrylate polymer is obtained by controlled free radical polymerization of a mixture comprising at least one acrylate monomer. The post-modification of polyacrylate polymers yields amine-modified polymers that provide improved viscosity parameters, without sacrificing the advantages of a well-defined polymer structure.

The presently claimed invention relates to polyalkyleneimine-based polymers that are useful as dispersants and a process for the preparation thereof. The presently claimed invention is also directed to dispersants that are useful in solvent-based dispersion systems as well as in water-based dispersion systems.
