Abstract:
A method for data connectivity in a room with a robotic device. In the method, at least one condition is detected with a plurality of sensors and the detected at least one condition is communicated from the sensors to associated access points. One or more of the access points are selected and the robotic device is maneuvered to a location in a vicinity of one or more of the selected access points. The detected at least one condition is communicated from one or more of the selected access points to the robotic device. In addition, the robotic device is maneuvered to a location in a vicinity of a base station and the detected at least one condition is communicated from the robotic device to the base station.
Abstract:
Load demands in a power system are managed by determining whether load demands on one or more power system components need to be varied. If the load demands need to be varied, new load demands to be placed on the power system components are determined. The load demands on the power system components are controlled such that the load demands are substantially equal to the new load demands.
Abstract:
An automated test method characterizes the performance of commercially available thermal interface materials (TIM) for electronic cooling. Such automated internal test vehicle provides an independent study of various TIM's. A spectrum of materials are preferably tested using automated methods so the results are reported in a consistent way. Such reports simplify the comparison and selection of appropriate TIM material for various end-user applications. Such automated test method is observed to be faster and easier to use. It requires minimal operator intervention during the test.
Abstract:
A system for multi-stage control of humidity in fluid flow supplied to at least one information technology apparatus includes a sensor, a first stage apparatus configured to vary humidity levels in the fluid flow, and a second stage apparatus positioned downstream of the first stage apparatus along the fluid flow to further vary humidity levels in the fluid flow. The system also includes a controller configured to receive environmental condition information from the sensor, to determine whether the information indicates that the humidity level is outside of a predetermined range, and to manipulate an operation of at least one of the first stage apparatus and the second stage apparatus to vary the humidity level in the fluid flow in response to the information indicating that the humidity level is outside of the predetermined range.
Abstract:
Embodiments include methods, apparatus, and systems with integrated circuits having phase change devices. One embodiment includes an integrated circuit die and a phase change die having a phase change material that changes phases when a temperature at the integrated circuit die exceeds a threshold for a predetermined amount of time.
Abstract:
In a method for assessing a plurality of electronic devices, cooling efficiencies for the plurality of electronic devices are calculated, where the cooling efficiencies comprise measures of energy usage requirements to respectively maintain the plurality of electronic devices within predetermined temperature ranges. In addition, the plurality of electronic devices are ranked according to their cooling efficiencies and the plurality of electronic devices are stored according to their rankings.
Abstract:
In a method for correlating vent tiles with racks based upon vent tile settings and rack inlet temperatures, the vent tiles are set to a first setting, the first vent tile settings are recorded and the temperatures at the inlets of the racks are detected at the first vent tile settings. One of the vent tiles is closed to obtain a second setting, the second vent tile settings are recorded and the temperatures at the inlets of the racks are detected at the second vent tile settings. In addition, the vent tiles and the racks are correlated based upon the settings of the vent tiles and the temperatures detected at the first vent tile settings and the second vent tile settings.
Abstract:
A docking station includes a housing receiving a portable computer. A liquid-filled hollow structure is provided on a portion of the housing. The liquid-filled hollow structure is in thermally conductive relation to the portable computer when the portable computer is docked in the docking station such that heat is transferred from the portable computer to the liquid-filled hollow structure.
Abstract:
A method for semi-autonomous operation of a robotic device in a room. In the method, one or more goal points are set and the distances between the robotic device and the one or more goal points are determined. A first one of the one or more goal points is selected and the robotic device is maneuvered to travel to the first one of the one or more goal points. In addition, one or more functions at the first one of the one or more goal points with the robotic device are performed
Abstract:
A spray cooling system for semiconductor devices. An ink-jet type spray device sprays droplets of a cooling fluid onto the semiconductor devices. The devices vaporize the liquid, which gets passed through a roll bond panel, or other heat exchanger, and is pumped into a spring loaded reservoir that feeds the spray device.
