Abstract:
A family of modular hybrid assemblies with high frequency interconnections is effected by a high frequency circuit assembly attached to a motherboard. Each assembly comprises standardized conducting elements and customizable transitions and circuit regions. The customizable transitions can be placed anywhere along the conducting element and are capable of low and high frequency performance. Attachment of the assembly can be effected via a standardized clamping structure which compresses an elastomeric member upon the conducting elements or by bending the conducting elements and soldering on end to attachment sites on the motherboard. Each member of the family of modular hybrid assemblies provides a controlled impedance transition from a transmission line on the circuit assembly to a transmission line on the motherboard.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a pencil holder that can carry a contractor's pencil, marker or construction crayon on the user's body. The pencil holder includes a lanyard connector portion that has a lanyard attached thereto. A pencil connector portion is included that is selectively attachable with the lanyard connector portion. A cavity is formed within the pencil connector portion to securely affix a writing implement therein. To allow for selective attachment and detachment between the pencil connector and lanyard connector portions, each of the components have magnet holes therein that securely hold a pair of magnets.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for preventing water from freezing in a spa or hot tub featuring a spa pack having a pump, heater and controller connected to a spa power supply through a ground fault circuit interrupter. A sensor is used to monitor an operating condition of the spa pack that is initially electrically connected to the spa power supply in order to activate at least one freeze prevention device if the operating condition of the spa pack changes due to electrical disconnection from the spa power supply by the ground fault circuit interrupter. The freeze prevention device features a heater, a circulating pump or both, and keeps water in the tub and the piping associated therewith from freezing. A switching arrangement is provided for deactivating the system outside the winter season when freeze protection is not required.
Abstract:
Multi-media project editing methods and systems are described. In one embodiment, a project editing system comprises a multi-media editing application that is configured to enable a user to combine multiple different video clips into a video project. A bitmap processor coupled with the multi-media editing application receives a first bitmap that can be used to render a transition between video clips and automatically processes the first bitmap to provide a different transition between video clips. Processing of the first bitmap can include, without limitation, using the first bitmap to provide an entirely new and different second bitmap, or processing the first bitmap in a manner which renders a transition that is different from the transition defined by the first bitmap. In one embodiment, a user is able to enter one or more parameters, through a user interface (UI), with the parameters then being used to manipulate the first bitmap to provide the different transition. Processing of the first bitmap can include many different operations, among which can be included one or more of: stretching, shrinking, replication, and offsetting. In addition, the first bitmap can be processed to include, in the transition it defines, a border that is not otherwise defined by the first bitmap.
Abstract:
A system is presented including a plurality of sources, and an interface, selectively coupled to the plurality of sources, to generate and implement a development project of processing chains, wherein the interface dynamically loads a processing chain for each of the plurality of media sources at a point during the execution of the project when the chain is required, and wherein the interface is configured to unload at least a subset of the chains when they are not required.
Abstract:
In accordance with at least one embodiment, a systems generates a source chain for use in a development project, and caches the source chain when it is not currently required in the development project.
Abstract:
A computing system, which is in communication with a multimedia source and that includes at least one application for processing multimedia content from the multimedia source, includes an Application Programming Interface (API) for obtaining basic multimedia information that may be required by applications to process the multimedia content. By doing this, the invention enables multimedia application(s) to easily obtain the basic information from the API in a predetermined and standard manner, without having to obtain the information directly from the multimedia source, thereby reducing the functionality that has to be programmed directly into the application(s) for obtaining the basic information, and thereby reducing the cost, time, and resources that are required for creating the multimedia application(s).
Abstract:
Various embodiments pertain to generating a development project including at least a matrix switch and one or more adjacent objects. In one or more embodiments, an initial rendering of the development project is established and buffer size and attributes are negotiated between an input/output coupling the matrix switch to an input/output of the adjacent objects. The negotiated buffer is utilized to communicate information between the input/output of the matrix switch and the input/output of the adjacent object by sharing information via the shared buffer.
Abstract:
Methods and systems of simulating dynamic properties on computer-implemented objects that do not support dynamic properties are described. In one embodiment, one or more first objects that do not support dynamic properties are provided. One or more second programmable objects are provided and are programmed to effect property value changes on the objects that do not support dynamic properties.
Abstract:
A solder joint or seal attaching components having dissimilar coefficients of thermal expansion is made thin (e.g., less than 20 μm and preferably about 5 μm) and of a solder such as an indium-based solder that has a tendency to creep. The solder is toroidal or otherwise shaped to avoid tensile stress in the solder. Axial shearing stress in the solder causes reversible creep without causing failure of the joint or seal. In one embodiment, a toroidal solder seal has a diameter, a footprint, and a thickness in approximate proportions of 5000:200:1.
