摘要: Methods and systems for securing data in a data storage network are disclosed. One method includes receiving at a secure storage appliance a block of data for storage on a volume, the volume associated with a plurality of shares distributed across a plurality of physical storage devices. The method further includes cryptographically splitting the block of data received by the secure storage appliance into a plurality of secondary data blocks, and cryptographically splitting the session key into a plurality of session key fragments. The method further includes encrypting each of the plurality of secondary data blocks with a different session key, each session key associated with at least one of the plurality of shares, and encrypting each of the plurality of session key fragments with a workgroup key associated with a source of the block of data.

摘要: A mucosal formulation for administration to mucosal membranes, such as in the mouth, nasal passage, stomach, vagina, etc., is disclosed. The mucosal formulation contains a lipid-pharmaceutical agent complex formed from phospholipids possessing a hydrophobic moiety that orients into a hydrophobic phase and a polar head moiety that orients towards the aqueous phase (i.e., “amphipathic” lipids). When placed in an aqueous medium (e.g., vaginal fluid), the phospholipids form liposomes or other small lipid vesicles (e.g., micelles) that may then be used to deliver pharmaceutical agents into a living organism.

摘要: A method of providing power and/or data to a seat in a seating area. A power distribution system having a continuous power bus is used to supply power and/or data to seats in a mobile platform or fixed structure. The power distribution system generally includes a bus strip that, in a mobile platform, extends along a length of a passenger cabin and a connector operable to provide a connection between the bus strip and the passenger seats. Power and/or data can be transmitted between the bus strip and the passenger seats, via the connector, at any point along the bus strip, thus eliminating the need to run separate connections between the power and/or data source and each seat.

摘要: A method of detefnnining a measure of a tissue state (e.g., glycation end-product or disease state) in an individual. A portion of the tissue of the individual is illuminated with excitation light, then light emitted by the tissue due to fluorescence of a chemical with the tissue responsive to the excitation light is detected. The detected light can be combined with a model relating fluorescence with a measure of tissue state to determine a tissue state. The invention can comprise single wavelength excitation light, scanning of excitation light (illuminating the tissue at a plurality of waveliengths), detection at a single wavelength, scanning of detection wavelengths (detecting emitted light at a plurality of wavelengths), and combinations thereof. The invention also can comprise correction techniques that reduce determination errors due to detection of light other than that from fluorescence of a chemical in the tissue. For example, the reflectance of the tissue can lead to errors if appropriate correction is not employed. The invention can also comprise a variety of models relating fluorescence to a measure of tissue state, including a variety of methods for generating such models. Other biologic information can be used in combination with the fluorescence properties to aid in the determination of a measure of tissue state. The invention also comprises apparatuses suitable for carrying out the method, including appropriate light sources, detectors, and models (for example, implemented on computers) used to relate detected fluorescence and a measure of tissue state.
