Abstract: The present disclosure provides copolymers comprising from about 0.5 wt % to about 25 wt % cyclic olefin content and films comprising the copolymers. In one embodiment, a copolymer includes a C2-C40 monomer content of from about 75 wt % to about 99.5 wt %; and a C5-C40 cyclic olefin comonomer content of from about 0.5 wt % to about 25 wt %. The copolymer has a density of about 0.91 g/cm3 to about 0.933 g/cm3. Films of the present disclosure can have advantageous mechanical properties (such as melt strength) and optical properties (such as haze %).

Abstract: Fiber-reinforced terephthalate-co-4,4′-bibenzoate copolyester behaves like a liquid crystalline polymer, providing fast crystallization, short cycling times, high Tg and Tm, high strength and stiffness, while the viscosity is unexpectedly reduced at a low fiber loading ratio. In an injection molding process, the viscosity of the fiber reinforced copolyester at low fiber loading is reduced by increasing the fiber loading.

Abstract: Stable star-structured functional polyolefins and methods of making them, the functional polyolefins comprising a polyolefin bound at any position along its chain length to at least one nucleophile-containing silane of the following formula: wherein Y is a di- or trivalent linker group selected from heteroatoms, C1 to C10 alkylenes, and other groups disclosed herein; Nu is a nucleophilic atom or unsaturation group; R5 is selected from hydrogen, and C1 to C10 alkyls, and other groups as disclosed herein; X is a divalent group selected from linear and branched alkylenes and heteroatom-alkylenes, and other groups as disclosed herein; and PO is a polyolefin having a weight average molecular weight of at least 400 g/mole; with the proviso that at least one of R1, R2, and R3 is selected from the same or different functional polyolefin moieties. Star-structured functional polyolefins are useful as filler dispersive additives in tire formulations and processing aids.

The graft copolymer is the reaction product of an engineering thermoplastic having at least one phenylene in the polymer backbone, and a vinyl/vinylidene terminated polyolefin having a weight average molecular weight of at least 300 g/mole, wherein the vinyl/vinylidene terminated polyolefin is selected from polyethylenes, polypropylenes, ethylene-propylene copolymers, polyisobutylenes, polydienes, propylene-based elastomers, ethylene-based plastomers, and combinations thereof.
