Abstract: A local server includes a controller configured to select a processing function for processing offload, and receive, from a traffic filter, target data that originates from a local network; and a processing platform comprising one or more processors and configured to apply the processing function to the target data to obtain processed data; and wherein the controller is further configured to send the processed data to a remote server for remote processing.

Abstract: A system for wireless communication, the system may include a processor configured to generate encoded packets representative of input packets. The processor may also be configured to determine a probability of a transmission error for each link of a plurality of links. In addition, the processor may be configured to determine a probability of a link blockage error for each link of the plurality of links. Further, the processor may be configured to determine an allocation scheme for the encoded packets on the plurality of links based on the probability of the transmission error and the probability of the link blockage error for each link of the plurality of links. The processor may be configured to allocate the encoded packets on the plurality of links according to the allocation scheme. The processor may also be configured to instruct to wirelessly transmit the encoded packets on the plurality of links.

Abstract: Sector sweeps are described for establishing two-way data communications with directional antennas. Some examples receive a sequence of base station transmit sector sweep signals from a base station (BS) at the UE, each signal being transmitted to a different transmit sector from a multiple antenna array of the BS, select a best transmitted signal at the UE from among the received signals, send a sequence of UE transmit sector sweep signals to the base station from the UE, each signal being transmitted to a different transmit sector from a multiple antenna array of the UE, send an identification of the selected best base station transmit sector sweep signal to the base station, receive an identification of a selected best UE transmit sector sweep signal from the base station, and send data to the BS using the identified best UE transmit sector.
