Abstract:
Predictive monitoring of a rotational machine of a cooling apparatus is provided by integrating a predictive vibration analyzer into an electronics rack being cooled by the cooling apparatus. The integrating includes associating at least one sensor of the predictive vibration analyzer with the rotational machine of the cooling apparatus. The analyzer includes a predetermined harmonics table of one or more base operational frequencies and associated rotational speed harmonics for the rotational machine indicative of one or more rotational faults, and the predictive vibration analyzer automatically evaluates vibration of the rotational machine during operation of the machine by analyzing vibration data therefor, and automatically ascertains, based on the vibration data, and the predetermined harmonics table, whether the rotational machine is predicted to possess a rotational fault of the one or more rotational faults.
Abstract:
Techniques for skin-condition visualization using machine learning. A color image depicting facial skin of a subject is retrieved. A monochromatic version of the color image is generated. Candidate instances of one or more skin conditions are segmented from the monochromatic version based on a segmentation threshold and using a machine learning model. A polarized version of the color image is generated, and based on the polarized version, the candidate instances are filtered. One or more simulation images are generated based on the filtered candidate instances.
Abstract:
In an embodiment, a plug formulation includes a mixture of a first part of a two-part epoxy system and artificial platelets formed from a polymeric material that expands upon exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light, moisture, or heat, wherein a portion of the first part of the two-part epoxy system is covalently bonded to a portion of the artificial platelets. In another embodiment, a plug formulation includes a mixture of a first part of a two-part epoxy system, an acrylate monomer, and artificial platelets formed from a polymeric material that expands upon exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light, moisture, or heat, wherein a portion of the first part of the two-part epoxy system is covalently bonded to a portion of the artificial platelets.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the disclosure generally provide compositions and methods related to articles that display reversible photoresponsive behavior.
Abstract:
In an example, a process includes polymerizing a mixture that includes an ethylene monomer, a propylene monomer, and a diene monomer to form an ethylene-propylene-diene (EPDM) terpolymer using ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP). The process further includes chemically reacting the EPDM terpolymer with a norbornene-based phosphinate cross-linking material to form a flame-retardant, cross-linked EPDM rubber.
Abstract:
Techniques are disclosed for restoring register data in a processor. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving an instruction to flush one or more general purpose registers (GPRs) in a processor. The method also includes determining history buffer entries of a history buffer to be restored to the one or more GPRs. The method includes creating a mask vector that indicates which history buffer entries will be restored to the one or more GPRs. The method further includes restoring the indicated history buffer entries to the one or more GPRs. As each indicated history buffer entry is restored, the method includes updating the mask vector to indicate which history buffer entries have been restored.
Abstract:
Operation of a multi-slice processor that includes execution slices and load/store slices coupled via a results bus, including: for a target instruction targeting a logical register, determining whether an entry in a general purpose register representing the logical register is pending a flush; if the entry in the general purpose register representing the logical register is pending a flush: cancelling the flush in the entry of the general purpose register; storing the target instruction in the entry of the general purpose register representing the logical register, and if an entry in a history buffer targeting the logical register is pending a restore, cancelling the restore for the entry of the history buffer.
Abstract:
A nozzle for a 3D printer has a body having a first end, a second end opposite the first end, and a material channel through the body. The body circumscribes at least a portion of the material channel. The material channel has a proximal orifice at the first end and a distal orifice at the second end. The nozzle has an ultraviolet light guide coupled with the body. The ultraviolet light guide has a first end, a second end, and a light-emitting tip with a first end and a second end. The first end of the light-emitting tip is coupled with the second end of the ultraviolet light guide.
Abstract:
In an example, a process for reversibly bonding a conformal coating to a dry film solder mask (DFSM) material is disclosed. The process includes applying a first conformal coating material to a DFSM material. The first conformal coating material includes a first functional group, and the DFSM material includes a second functional group that is different from the first functional group. The process also includes reversibly bonding the first conformal coating material to the DFSM material via a chemical reaction of the first functional group and the second functional group.
