Abstract:
A controller obtains data stored in one or more data structures generated based on a defined task to be performed for a selected event. The data includes a set of constraints for the defined task. One or more task solutions generated for the defined task using the provided data are obtained. A determination is made as to whether the one or more task solutions include a task solution that satisfies one or more defined criteria. Based on determining that the one or more task solutions do not include the task solution that satisfies the one or more defined criteria, the set of constraints is automatically adjusted to provide an adjusted set of constraints. The adjusted set of constraints is to be automatically provided to a solution generator to be used to obtain the task solution that satisfies the one or more defined criteria.

Abstract:
A polymer network for 3D printing has a first polymer and a second polymer. The first polymer and the second polymer are crosslinked by a photo-crosslink. The first polymer and the second polymer are independently selected from polylactic acid, poly(acrylonitrile butadiene styrene), polystyrene, nylon, high density polyethylene, polycarbonate, polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene terephthalate, and thermoplastic polymers.
Abstract:
Method and apparatus for removing bubbles from a molten substrate. The molten substrate from a furnace passes through a downtube to reach additional manufacturing tools, such as an extrusion bushing. One or more ultrasonic sensors are arranged along the downtube. The ultrasonic sensor(s) transmit ultrasonic energy into the molten substrate and measure a characteristic of the ultrasonic energy, such as a propagation time for the ultrasonic energy to be reflected back to the ultrasonic sensor(s). A bubble is detected when a change in the characteristic of the ultrasonic energy is detected. When a bubble is detected, flow through the downtube is diverted to a duct to remove a slug of molten substrate that includes the bubble.
Abstract:
Embodiments generally relate to devices and methods for production of fibers and threads for use in electronic device manufacturing. Described here, fibers can be produced and manipulated using a dual-surfaced sizing material. The dual-surfaced sizing material has a surface which binds a fiber and a surface which binds a resin. Thus, the dual-surfaced sizing material can be left attached to the fibers without adversely affecting the resin binding in later production steps.
Abstract:
Predictive monitoring of a rotational machine of a cooling apparatus is provided by integrating a predictive vibration analyzer into an electronics rack being cooled by the cooling apparatus. The integrating includes associating at least one sensor of the predictive vibration analyzer with the rotational machine of the cooling apparatus. The analyzer includes a predetermined harmonics table of one or more base operational frequencies and associated rotational speed harmonics for the rotational machine indicative of one o r more rotational faults, and the predictive vibration analyzer automatically evaluates vibration of the rotational machine during operation of the machine by analyzing vibration data therefor, and automatically ascertains, based on the vibration data, and the predetermined harmonics table, whether the rotational machine is predicted to possess a rotational fault of the one or more rotational faults.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure generally provide compositions and methods related to articles that display reversible photoresponsive behavior.
Abstract:
Devices and methods for resisting or preventing physical tampering of electronic components are described. A tamper resistant apparatus comprises a tampering sensor having a surface at which a first and second conductive portion are disposed. A core-shell particle (or a plurality of particles) is disposed on the surface of the tampering sensor. The core-shell particle has a liquid metallic core and a shell surrounding the core. When tampering occurs, forces associated with the tampering cause the core-shell particle to rupture. The released metallic core material can form a conductive pathway between the first and second conductive portions of the tampering sensor. The tampering sensor triggers a security response when the first and second conductive portions are electrically connected to each other by the metallic material from the ruptured core-shell particle(s).
Abstract:
Embodiments of the disclosure generally provide flame retardant compositions and methods comprising organic polymers, mineral fillers, high surface area mineral fillers and process aids. Compositions of the disclosure additionally are comprised of high surface area hydrated metal carbonate fillers, including the mesoporous amorphous magnesium carbonate filler Upsalite. The filler's porous structure and high surface area provides high water capacity, enhanced physical and chemical interaction with a polymer in composite, lower by weight loadings of filler in a composite, as well as effective flame retardancy.
Abstract:
A hose, connector, and hose assembly are described with mechanical properties that can be varied by exposure to specific energy stimuli. The hose has a wall with a first material, a second material, and one or more energy conduits, wherein the first material has a first rigidity with a first variability, and the second material has a second rigidity with a second variability, the first variability depends on energy emitted from the one or more energy conduits, and the second variability is substantially independent of energy emitted from the one or more energy conduits. The second material may be disposed in inclusions that are positioned in the wall. The connector connects two such hoses together, providing connectivity for the inclusions and the energy conduits of two lengths of hose. The connector also provides an external connection to couple an energy source to the energy conduits of the hose.
