摘要: A water electrolyzer for electrolyzing water to produce and recover acidic and/or alkaline water. The electrolyzer is of the membraneless laminar-flow type which is designed to electrolyze water without placing a membrane between the electrodes. To this end, the anode and cathode are arranged closely with one another with a very small spacing (generally less than 1 mm) to establish a laminar flow in a narrow flow path. The anode is provided with a slit-shaped aperture for separating a thin layer of acidic water flowing along the anode surface. This aperture is situated sufficiently upstream of the downstream end of the flow path to ensure that the layer of acidic water is separated away from the remainder of the laminar flow while the laminar flow is sustained in the flow path. Accordingly, formation of turbulence at a point of acidic water separation is minimized so that highly acidic water can be recovered.

摘要: An apparatus for detecting moving and unmoving regions in a moving image includes three memories for storing differentiation results of respective pixels in an x component, a y component, and a time component from two moving image data which are temporally successive. A first calculator reads out values of pixels near respective pixels in arbitrary two of the three memories, and calculates all quantities of multiplication/addition between the pixels. A second calculator calculates a value equivalent to a covariance determinant of vectors of an x component, a y component, and a time component from six results of the multiplication/addition. A third calculator calculates a multiplication between a time differentiation energy and a square of a spatial differentiation energy from results of the calculation of the second calculator and the pixel data values stored in the memories. A judgment device calculates a ratio of a result of an addition between an output data from the third calculator and an error energy.

摘要: A microphone that identifies the direction along which acoustic waves propagate with one diaphragm, and has superior durability is provided. The microphone includes a circular diaphragm supported at a center portion thereof. When the diaphragm receives acoustic waves, each position around the center thereof will vibrate with a phase depending upon the direction of the acoustic waves. First electrodes are arranged on one surface of the diaphragm and second electrodes are arranged facing corresponding first electrodes to form a first capacitor. Third electrodes are arranged on the other surface of the diaphragm and fourth electrodes are arranged facing corresponding third electrodes to form a second capacitor. A controller applies a voltage to the second capacitors so that the capacitance of the first capacitors will be constant and identifies the direction along which the acoustic waves propagate based on the difference in the voltages applied to each of the second capacitors.

摘要: A shielded electrical connector is provided having enhanced structural rigidity. The connector includes a metallic shield formed of a shaped metal blank, wherein two longitudinal edges of the sheet meet at a seam. The shield also includes one or more flanges at a front of the connector adapted to be secured against a computer panel or chassis. The connector an insulative housing which includes a support beam that extends from the rear side of the housing forwardly along a wall of the shield. A front surface of the support beam is disposed behind the flange to prevent rearward deformation of the flange. In an embodiment, the support beam extends along the seam to prevent the shield from deflecting and spreading apart at the seam.
