    摘要: A grease seal cup for a splined joint between a drive shaft and a driven shaft comprises a cylindrical portion adapted to form a seal with the outer surface of the drive shaft and a seal with a sealing member, such as a spanner nut, of the driven shaft. The grease seal cup, comprising a flexible polymer material, tightly squeezed during installation to form the seals. The pre-fabricated light weight grease seal cup can be used in existing splined joints without adversely affecting the weight balance.

    摘要: A process for applying a coating having a therapeutic agent such as an antibiotic or a bone morphogenic protein such as OP-1 protein to an implant uses the high surface area of a calcium phosphate coated metal implant as a repository for the therapeutic agent. The implant is coated with one or more layers of calcium phosphate minerals such as hydroxyapatite. After the crystalline layer is applied, which is usually done within an aqueous solution, the implant is dried and packaged. Immediately prior to implantation, the implant is removed from the package and the crystalline layer of calcium phosphate is wetted with an aqueous solution containing the therapeutic agent.

    摘要: A bone-reaming system for use in bone cavities which allows for a less invasive and more precise surgical procedure is disclosed. An apparatus according to such a system may include a housing, a motor disposed within the housing, and a cutter attached to the motor and extendable through the aperture, wherein the housing is capable of articulating with respect to a bone cavity so as to allow the cutter to cut at least a portion of the bone cavity. A routing guide is used in conjunction with the apparatus to provide a template through which to cut preselected portions of a bone cavity. Also disclosed is a method for using such a bone-reaming system.

A monitor is mounted upon the support, the monitor having a water blasting nozzle. Water is transmitted under the pressure to the monitor and the leg is water blasted using pressurized fueled that flows through the nozzle and is directed selectively to mudded or dirtied portion of the leg to be cleaned.

    摘要: A multi-well assembly including a filter plate and receiver plate. Each plate includes a plurality of wells, which, when the filter plate is placed in nesting relationship with the receiver plate, each filter plate well has a corresponding receiver plate well into which it extends. The receiver plate wells are of a non-uniform cross-section in order to increase the gap between the outer walls of the filter plate wells and the inner walls of a corresponding receiver plate well when the receiver plate and filter plate are in nesting relationship. The increased gap size reduces wicking and cross-contamination. A multi-section well of maximum cross-section in an upper region and a minimized cross-section in a lower region, with a gradual transition between the regions, is thus provided. The multi-well assembly of the present invention also improves the repeatability of positioning the filter plate and receiver plate in proper nesting relationship and provides stability during handling, mixing and shaking operations.
