    摘要: Piezoelectric ceramic materials comprising a ternary fundamental solid solution of 0.5 to 5.0 mol % of Pb(Y.sub.1/2 Nb.sub.1/2)O.sub.3, 40.0 to 50.0 mol % of PbTiO.sub.3, and 45.0 to 59.5 mol % of PbZrO.sub.3 are described. In the ceramic materials, part of Pb in the solid solution is substituted with 5.0 to 15.0 mol % of Sr, and at least one member selected from the group consisting of Nb.sub.2 O.sub.5, WO.sub.3, La.sub.2 O.sub.3, TaO.sub.3, Bi.sub.2 O.sub.3, Tb.sub.4 O.sub.7, NdO and Pr.sub.6 O.sub.11 is further contained in the solid solution in an amount of 0.1 to 2.0 wt % of the solid solution.

    摘要: A ceramic structure including a metallic body such as an electric heater. The metallic body is retained in a retaining portion of the ceramic structure in such a manner that a minute cavity is provided around the metallic body. This ceramic structure is produced by forming an organic film around the metallic body, preparing a ceramic structure including the metallic body surrounded with the organic film in a retaining portion of the ceramic structure, and heating the resultant structure so as to decompose the organic film, whereby a minute cavity is formed around the metallic body.

    摘要: An exhaust gas filter is formed of ceramic honeycomb structure and provided with large number of passages defined by porous thin separator walls. The passages are composed of exhaust gas inlet passages and outlet passages which are alternately arranged. The honeycomb structure is further provided with exhaust gas blowing passages through which one part of exhaust gases entering into the inlet passages is discharged, without passing through minute pores of the porous thin separator walls, resulting in reducing the pressure loss of the exhaust gases.

    摘要: A method for producing a filter having partially different apparent densities comprises the steps of assembling at least two kinds of foamed bodies having different cell densities, which are formed of an organic compound such as urethane, into a three dimensional structure, immersing the obtained composite body into a slurry composed of ceramic such as cordierite so that the slurry is attached to the surface of the composite body, and firing the composite body to which the slurry is attached, to burn off the foamed bodies. By selecting the portion to be formed into high density, mechanical strength and exhaust gas purifying efficiency of the filter can be improved.

    摘要: It is an object of the present invention to investigate what kinds of structures a sugar chain has by performing a sugar chain structural analysis of a glycoprotein produced in a transgenic silkworm. For the sugar chain of the glycoprotein produced in the transgenic silkworm, a glycoprotein having a sugar chain structure in which fucose is not linked to N-acetylglucosamine at a reducing terminal of the sugar chain is obtained. In addition, a glycoprotein having an almost completely humanized sugar chain structure is obtained by further integrating GalT gene into this transgenic silkworm.

    摘要: A method of operating an electron microscope under a high temperature and the electron microscope are provided. The electron microscope can stably set and efficiently heat a sample to observe and measure high temperature physical properties such as phase transformation, phase transition and the like required for development of a heat resistant material. In the method of operating the electron microscope and the electron microscope, a sample to be observed is set so as to position at a central hole of a double spiral flat filament, the detachable heating stage is fixed to the heating holder using screws of a pivot, and the heating stage is tilted by vertical movement of a crank-shaped arm. The heating stage and the arm are insulated from each other by an insulating body, and current from a power source is conducted by a conductor wire to heat the filament.
