摘要: The present invention provides an electrode catalyst layer comprising catalyst particles, an ion exchange resin and a water repellent agent. The water repellent agent contains (A) a fluorine-containing copolymer having a structure unit derived from a polyfluoroalkyl-containing (meth)acrylate and/or (B) a fluorine-containing copolymer having a structural unit represented by derived from a fluorine-containing olefin monomer and a structure unit represented derived from a vinyl ether monomer. The electrode catalyst layer contains 0.1 to 20% by weight of the water repellant agent. The electrode catalyst layer exhibits excellent balance between water retention and drainage in an electrode, good power generation performance under any of low humidity and high humidity conditions, and also excellent durability in power generation.

摘要: A cell assembly (10) includes a first unit cell (12) and a second unit cell (14). The first unit cell (12) and the second unit cell (14) are juxtaposed such that electrode surfaces of the first unit cell (12) and electrode surfaces of the second unit cell (14) are aligned in parallel with each other. An oxygen-containing gas flow passage (32) includes a first oxygen-containing gas passage (38) in the first unit cell (12), an oxygen-containing gas connection passage (40) in a connection passage member (16), and a second oxygen-containing gas passage (42) in the second unit cell (14). The first oxygen-containing gas passage (38), the oxygen-containing gas connection passage (40), and the second oxygen-containing gas passage (42) are connected serially from the first unit cell (12) to the second unit cell (14).

摘要: This invention provides an electrode electrolyte for a solid polymer-type fuel cell, in which a cost problem and a problem related to recovery of catalyst metals are solved, having excellent proton conductivity, dimensional stability and heat resistance.An electrode electrolyte for a solid polymer electrolyte-type fuel cell contains a polymer, which has a polyphenylene structure as a main chain and both a sulfonic acid group and a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group as a side chain. A side chain having the nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group has a structure represented by the following general formula (D). (In formula, Z represents at least one kind of structures selected from a group consisting of a direct bond, —O— and —S—, Y represents at least one kind of structures selected from a group consisting of —CO—, —SO2—, —SO—, —CONH—, —COO—, —(CF2)1— (1 is an integer of 1 to 10) and —C(CF3)2— and R20 represents a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group. q represents an integer of 1 to 5 and p represents an integer of 0 to 4.)The above nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group is at least one kind of group derived from a compound selected from the group consisting of nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds including pyrrole, thiazole, isothiazole, oxazole, isoxazole, pyridine, imidazole, imidazoline, pyrazole, 1,3,5-triazine, pyrimidine, pyridazine, pyrazine, indole, quinoline, isoquinoline, purine, benzimidazole, benzoxazole, benzothiazole, tetrazole, tetrazine, triazole, carbazole, acridine, quinoxaline and quinazoline and derivatives thereof.

摘要: This invention provides an electrode for a fuel cell comprising a catalyst layer obtained by a first step of homogeneously mixing carbon supporting platinum which is an electrode catalyst, an alcohol solution of an ion conductive component which is a solid polymer electrolytic membrane component, and an organic solvent, by means of a stirrer having a grinding effect to produce electrode paste in which the carbon is highly dispersed; a second step of stirring said electrode paste by means of a three-dimensional vibrating stirrer in order to obtain highly structured carbon on which platinum is supported; and a third step of coating a gas diffusion electrode material and/or a solid polymer electrolytic membrane with the electrode paste in which the carbon is highly structured, followed by removal of the organic solvent.

摘要: Membrane-electrode assemblies are provided which have polymer electrolyte membranes capable of maintaining an adequately wet condition even at high temperatures and have superior generating properties. The membrane-electrode assembly includes an ion exchange resin membrane, an anode catalyst layer including catalyst-supported carbon and an ion exchange resin, and a cathode catalyst layer including catalyst-supported carbon and an ion exchange resin, the anode catalyst layer including a binder component of which the ion exchange capacity is higher than that of a binder component in the cathode catalyst layer, and/or the anode catalyst layer including an ion exchange resin layer of which the water content is higher than that of anion exchange resin layer of the cathode catalyst layer.

摘要: A fuel gas inlet is provided at an outer circumferential edge portion of a second separator. First fuel gas flow passage grooves for supplying a fuel gas to an anode electrode are formed on a side of a surface of the second separator. First fuel gas connecting flow passages, which make communication between the fuel gas inlet and the first fuel gas flow passage grooves, include flow passage lo grooves which are provided on a side of a surface, and through-holes which penetrate through the second separator to make communication with the first fuel gas flow passage grooves. Accordingly, excellent sealing performance is ensured with a simple structure, and it is possible to realize a thin-walled fuel cell.
