    摘要: An image guided navigation system for mapping at least one of the shape, size and location of a structure within a heart of a patient, including a catheter system having a first catheter with a longitudinally extending lumen, a second catheter having a longitudinally extending lumen and positioned at least partially within and moveable relative to the lumen of the first catheter, an elongated member positioned at least partially within and moveable relative to a lumen of the second catheter, a first detectable marker located at a generally distal end of the first catheter, a second detectable marker located at a generally distal end of the second catheter, and a third detectable marker located at a generally distal end of the elongated member, wherein at least one of the three detectable markers is axially moveable relative to at least one of the other detectable markers.

    摘要: Visualization reference devices to aid in non-direct visualization of heart structure. The devices are positionable in the heat structure and visible with a desired imaging modality. The devices being elastically transformable between delivery configurations and deployment configurations. The devices being used to assist a clinician in mapping the heart structure while implanting therapeutic devices therein. An example would be using the devices disclosed herein to map the size, location, orientation and displacement of a mitral valve annulus for catheter based implantation of a valve repair device.

    摘要: Incompetency or regurgitation of a cardiac valve is treated by injecting a space occupying material or implanting a space occupying device within a papillary muscle or in heart tissue near a papillary muscle to cause lengthening or repositioning of the papillary muscle in a manner that improves coaptation of the valve leaflets and lessens valvular incompetency or regurgitation. The procedure may be performed by open thoracotomy, thoracoscopically, by a tran-endocardial catheter based approach or by a trans-coronary catheter based approach.
