摘要:
Methods are provided for modulating the expression of genes involved in lipid metabolism, useful in the treatment of conditions associated with cardiovascular risk. Antisense oligonucleotides targeted to apolipoprotein B reduce the level of apolipoprotein B mRNA, lower serum cholesterol and shift liver gene expression profiles from those of an obese animal towards those of a lean animal. Further provided are methods for improving the cardiovascular risk of a subject through antisense inhibition of apolipoprotein B. Also provided are methods for employing antisense oligonucleotides targeted to apolipoprotein B to modulate a cellular pathway or metabolic process.

Antisense compounds, compositions and methods are provided for modulating the expression of microsomal triglyceride transfer protein. The compositions comprise antisense compounds, particularly antisense oligonucleotides, targeted to nucleic acids encoding microsomal triglyceride transfer protein. Methods of using these compounds for modulation of microsomal triglyceride transfer protein expression and for treatment of diseases associated with expression of microsomal triglyceride transfer protein are provided.

A beverage container having a slidably openable lid assembly is disclosed. The lid assembly basically comprises a base member and a cover member. The base member includes a wall portion releasably securing the lid assembly to the container and an opening in fluid communication with a beverage holding chamber in the container. The cover member is slidably coupled to the base member to slide from a closed position to an open position and vice versa. When the cover member is in the closed position it isolates the opening and the contiguous portions of the base member from the ambient surroundings. When the cover member is in the open position it exposes the opening to enable a user to drink the beverage via the opening. The cover includes an elastomeric member arranged to engage and seal the opening in the base member when the cover member is in the closed position.

A first device is provided that comprises a frame. The frame further comprises a lens housing adapted to support a first lens and a second lens, a first temple movable coupled to the lens housing, and a second temple movably coupled to the lens housing. The first device further comprises a first spring mechanism coupled to the first temple and the lens housing. A first conductive path is provided from the first temple to the lens housing for at least one position of the first temple relative to the frame.

A hose attachment particulate spreader device is provided that includes a housing having a particulate egress aperture. A first funnel channel is provided for conveying dry flowable particulate. A selector controls a first gate in communication with the first funnel channel. The first gate meters dry flowable particulate within the first funnel channel. A water inlet is also provided for engaging a water supply hose. A water trigger is included for simultaneously opening a second gate in communication with the first gate and the egress aperture, as well as applying a water spray to exhaust a content from the funnel hose out the egress aperture. A process for field spreading is provided that includes attaching a bottle to such a device, the bottle containing a content of a dry flowable particulate or a slurry. The device is coupled to a water supply hose and by exhausting a water spray from the water supply hose through the device to exhaust a portion of the content while the content remaining in the bottle does not contact the water spray and remains in an unchanged form.

A first device is provided. The first device includes a lens comprising at least a first electrical contact and a lens housing holding the lens. The lens housing includes at least a second electrical contact. The first device further comprises a compliant conductive element disposed between the first and the second electrical contact. The compliant conductive element electrically connects the first and second electrical contacts.

Embodiments may provide a first device that includes a frame having a first temple and a second temple. The frame may also comprise a housing module coupled (e.g. attached) to a structural member. The first device may further include a first lens and a second lens coupled to the frame and an electronics module that may be located within the housing module. The electronics module may include at least any two of: a power source; a controller; and/or a sensing mechanism.

A vehicle email notification system and method in which templates are used to automatically generate email messages that provide the recipient with diverse types of dynamic vehicle information. The email notifications are triggered by different events, some of which are independent of the vehicle (e.g., a monthly trigger), and others of which occur at the vehicle, such as a mileage or low oil life trigger. The notification system selects an appropriate template based on the type of trigger and uses that template to build and send to the subscriber an email message that contains the dynamic vehicle information and identifies any detected vehicle condition for which action is needed. In addition to trigger type, different templates can be defined for each combination of vehicle type (e.g., make of vehicle), trigger type, and a language preference (e.g., English, Spanish).
