The apparatus may include a light source configured to emit first light to a first region of an object for a first time period and emit second light to a second region of the object for a second time period, the first light and the second light respectively being reflected from the first region and the second region; and an image obtainer configured to obtain a first partial depth image based on the reflected first light, obtain a second partial depth image based on the reflected second light, and obtain a first depth image of the object based on the first partial depth image and the second partial depth image.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for acquiring depth information are disclosed. To acquire depth information, illumination light of which an amount of light has been modulated by a modulation signal is emitted towards a subject, and an image is captured using an image sensor. An image signal is sequentially acquired from a plurality of rows while shifting a phase of the illumination light at a start exposure time of a row belonging to an intermediate region of a pixel array region of the image sensor. Depth information is calculated from image signals acquired during a plurality of frames while shifting a phase of the modulation signal.

Abstract: A lidar device includes a light source configured to emit a laser pulse to an object, a light receiver configured to receive the laser pulse reflected by the object, a first periodic wave generator configured to generate a first periodic wave when the light source emits the laser pulse and generate a second periodic wave when the light source receives the laser pulse, and a first comparator configured to compare a phase of the first periodic wave and a phase of the second periodic wave to each other. The lidar device calculates a distance between the lidar device and the object based on a phase difference determined by the first comparator.
