摘要: Methods and apparatus for unified communication across circuit-switched and packet-switched network domains. In one embodiment, voice or data available in one domain (e.g., circuit-switched such as a PSTN) can be seamlessly forwarded onto another domain (e.g. packet-switched such as a WLAN). A bridge or intermediary device is used that is coupled to both the circuit-switched network and packet-switched network. This bridge device allows bidirectional operation and permits, for example, a user to receive a telephone call at a user's home network via a PSTN, and forward that telephone call or information related to that call over another network such as a local IP network (e.g. a WLAN) to the user, where the user can answer that call or otherwise receive information associated with the call on their primary user device (e.g., cellular phone).

摘要: An enhanced intraluminal flow measurement system and method is conducive for a low-power ultrasonic system that can use continuous-wave (CW) Doppler sensing and wireless RF telemetry. Applications include measurement of blood flow in situ in living organisms. Implementations include an extraluminal component located outside of a body, such as a human or animal body, containing a lumen. The extraluminal component can be wirelessly coupled via an RF magnetic field or other RF field to an implantable intraluminal component. The intraluminal component (i.e. implant) is implanted inside of the lumen of the body such as a heart or elsewhere in a vasculature (such as in a dialysis shunt). The intraluminal component can telemeter, via RF electromagnetic signals, flow data directly out of the body housing the intraluminal component to be received by the extraluminal component.

摘要: As described herein vascular anchoring systems are used to position an implant in a vascular area such as a bifurcated vasculature with relatively high fluid flow, for instance, in an area of a pulmonary artery with associated left and right pulmonary arteries. Implementations include an anchoring trunk member having a first anchoring trunk section and a second anchoring trunk section. Further implementations include a first anchoring branch member extending from the anchoring trunk member. Still further implementations include a second anchoring branch member extending from the anchoring trunk member.

摘要: A content delivery network (CDN) service provider extends a content delivery network to gather information on atomically identifiable web clients (called “user agents”) as such computer-implemented entities interact with the CDN across different domains being managed by the CDN service provider. In one embodiment, a set of machines, processes, programs, and data comprise a data system. The data system tracks user agents, preferably via cookies, although one or more passive techniques may be used. A user agent may be a cookie-able device having a cookie store. As the user agent navigates across sites, a CDN-specific unique identifier used by the system to correlate user agents is generated. Preferably, the unique identifier is stored as an encrypted cookie. The unique identifier represents one user agent (and, thus, one cookie-able device's store). The system tracks user agent behavior on and across customer sites that are served by the CDN, and these behaviors are classified into identifiable “segments” that may be used to create a profile. CDN customers use the data system to obtain information that characterizes the user agent.

摘要: An apparatus for performing a biological or biochemical reaction that, in certain embodiments, has the ability to generate flow in a reaction site container by applying a force to a liquid medium that is outside of the reaction site container. In some embodiments, a flow generating component such as a gas bubble moves within a container and forces an agitating fluid to move through a reaction site container. In some embodiments, the movement of the agitating fluid applies shear stress to cells that are maintained within the reaction site container.

摘要: Communication devices, such as a radio and a cockpit communication panel, digitally communicate audio signals as digital data without use of a synchronizing clock signal between the devices. The communication panel and the radio function as both a receiver and as a transmitter of digital audio signals. In one embodiment, an analog audio signal is received by the transmitting device and transformed by a coder/decoder (CODEC) into a plurality of signals. The plurality of signals is received and transformed by a field programmable gate array (FPGA) into a digital signal that includes framing pulse and stop bits. The digital signal is transmitted to a FPGA in a receiving device, which transforms the signal into a second plurality of signals. A CODEC in the receiving device transforms the second plurality of signals into an analog audio signal.

摘要: The invention generally relates to a fireplace surround for attachment to a fireplace. The surround may include first and second side members formed from a molded material, and a top member formed from the molded material that extends between the first and second side members. The top member defines a cavity that is in fluid communication with a vent of the fireplace to collect heated air from the fireplace. An opening formed in the top member facilitates movement of heated air collected in the cavity to pass through the cavity. The surround may also include a shield member that direct the heated air from the fireplace vent to the exhaust opening in the top member, and an insulating member that dissipates heat in the top member.

摘要: This disclosure generally relates to systems and methods for manipulating chambers and other substrates for chemical, biological, or biochemical samples, such as cell culture and other chambers, within units such as incubators. In certain embodiments, the invention provides a technique for maintaining a plurality of substrates or chambers in a housing within which a predetermined environment is maintained, different from the environment external to the housing, and moving substrates or chambers in and out of the housing, in some cases without creating a large opening in the housing (e.g., by opening a door significantly larger than the substrates). A technique is provided, in certain embodiments, in which a plurality of substrates are mounted in fixed, secured relation to each other within a housing providing a predetermined, controlled environment, and are moved within the housing so that they can be evenly exposed to any differences in environment within the housing. In certain embodiments, the invention provides a technique for agitating a fluid within one or more chambers or substrates within a housing that can provide environmental control, in certain embodiments without physically stirring the fluid, such as with a stir bar or other stirring element in direct contact with the fluid. In still another embodiment, the invention provides a method for rotating a substrate or chamber about a substantially vertical and/or horizontal axis. In some cases, any of the above-described systems can be rotated at a speed sufficient to cause separation of a substance within the chamber or substrate.
