A polymer which has a radical polymerizable unsaturated group in a side chain and can be made a molecular design suitable for the purpose; a curable resin composition containing the polymer, which provides a cured product having high surface hardness after curing and hardly suffering from scratch; the cured product; and an article obtained by laminating the cured product are provided.The polymer (A) of the present invention is obtained by polymerizing, at least, a vinyl monomer represented by the following general formula (1) and a cyclic ether compound represented by the following general formula (2).The polymer (A) of the present invention is preferably obtained by polymerization of 1 wt % or more and 99.9 wt % or less of a vinyl monomer represented by the general formula (1), 0.1 wt % or more and 99 wt % or less of a cyclic ether compound represented by the general formula (2) and 0 wt % or more and 98.9 wt % or less of the other cationic polymerizable monomer. Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with selectively acquiring and utilizing query statistics are described. One example method includes selectively acquiring statistics associated with search queries submitted to a search process during a sample period. The statistics may be associated with an index and tokens associated with the index and search queries. The method may also include selecting tokens and/or queries to optimize based, at least in part, on the statistics. In one example, whether and/or how the tokens and/or queries are optimized may depend on estimating index fragmentation based, at least in part, on the statistics.

A scanner device includes a scanner body enclosed by a housing and an external cover covering an outer side of the housing. The external cover is comprised of a plurality of external members. By spacing the adjacent external members apart from each other at the side edge parts of the housing, recesses are formed between the adjacent external members so as to constitute parts of the external design of the scanner body. Preferably, the side edge parts of the housing are exposed between the adjacent external members at the side edge parts of the housing, and information providing devices providing information on the scanner device are provided at the side edge parts of the housing exposed between the adjacent external members.

The front cover is connected at a lower end side thereof to the lower front part of the scanner body and connected at an upper end side thereof to pivotably connected to the front end side of the upper surface cover. By opening the front surface cover from the front surface of the scanner body, the upper surface cover and front surface cover form a document ejection tray.

To provide a high concentration solution of a vinylpyrrolidone polymer having a low K value, which can be used in various applications such as medical applications and applications where coloring is problematic. A monomer component essentially containing N-vinylpyrrolidone, hydrogen peroxide, and ammonia are sequentially added to a copper catalyst-containing aqueous solvent and polymerized at 55 to 90° C., and the ammonia is used in an amount of 0.1 to 0.37% by weight based on the N-vinylpyrrolidone. As a result, a 40 to 60% by weight solution of a vinylpyrrolidone polymer having a K value of 60 or less, wherein the solution has: an N-vinylpyrrolidone content of 10 ppm or less relative to the vinylpyrrolidone polymer; an alkanol concentration of 100 ppm or less; and an ignition residue of 0.1% by weight or less, and a 50% by weight solution of the vinylpyrrolidone polymer has a hue (APHA) according to JIS-K3331 of 280 or less.

An image printing method and system. Information of printing paper size, image size to be printed and printing position is inputted by user. On the basis of the information, a control circuit determines the number of data to be printed in the primary scanning direction as well as the number of data for blanks at both sides and additionally determines the number of lines for printing in the secondary scanning direction as well as line numbers for processing and succeeding blanks. In the primary scanning, the data to be printed is supplied to a thermal head together with the data for the blanks. In the secondary scanning, a printing sheet is transported idly for the blank portions. The thermal head is electrically energized in the printing portion for printing the image at a predetermined position on the printing paper.

Techniques for analyzing a social graph of a social network service to identify and then present connection paths connecting various entities are described. With some embodiments, subsequent to a user selecting or otherwise identifying two entities represented as nodes in a social graph, the social graph is analyzed to identify connection paths connecting the nodes representing the two entities. The social graph is implemented with a graph data structure having nodes and edges representing entities and associations between entities, respectively. With some embodiments, the nodes represent people, companies, educational institutions (e.g., schools, universities, etc.), and groups. After identifying the connection paths, the connection path or paths having the highest path scores, as derived by aggregating edge scores assigned to the edges, may be presented.
