摘要: An intake air amount control system for an internal combustion engine installed in an automotive vehicle has an intake air amount control valve arranged in a bypass passage bypassing a throttle valve arranged in an intake passage of the engine. The intake air amount control valve controls the amount of air supplied to the intake passage at a location downstream of the throttle valve. The intake air amount control valve is controlled in dependence on operatives states of electric devices including an electrically-heated catalyzer which are installed on the vehicle and supplied with electric power by an alternator installed on the vehicle and driven by the engine, when the engine is in a predetermined operating condition. The intake air amount control valve is controlled by the use of a correction amount dependent on an operative state of the electrically-heated catalyzer.

摘要: A control system controls an alternator driven by an internal combustion engine, for generating electric power. A changeover switch selectively switches the destination of electric power generated by the alternator to a plurality of electric load groups having respective different load voltage values, each electric load group having at least one electric load. An ECU controls switching operation of the changeover switch and changes output voltage from the alternator between a plurality of different predetermined voltage values corresponding, respectively, to the plurality of electric load groups, according to a direction in which the changeover switch has been switched. When switching of the changeover switch has occurred, the output voltage from the alternator to be supplied to one of the plurality of electric load groups to which the destination of electric power generated by the alternator has been switched is controlled by the ECU in a manner such that the output voltage progressively changes to one of the plurality of different predetermined voltage values corresponding to the one of the plurality of electric load groups.

摘要: A control device is provided for controlling an electrically-heated catalyzer of an internal combustion engine. Electric power generated by an alternator driven by the engine is supplied to the electrically-heated catalyzer. At least one electrical parameter dependent on the electric power supplied to the electrically-heated catalyzer is detected. It is determined that the electrically-heated catalyzer is abnormal when the at least one electrical parameter falls outside a predetermined range. The predetermined range is changed according to the rotational speed of the engine detected by an engine rotational speed sensor.

摘要: This invention relates to an assistance controlling apparatus for a hybrid vehicle which assists an outputs of the engine by an output of the motor. The assistance controlling apparatus for a hybrid vehicle according to this invention, comprises: an engine which outputs propulsive power for the vehicle; a motor which assists the output of the engine; a remaining quantity detector which detects whether the remaining quantity of the fuel is under a fixed value or not; and an assistance-restricting unit which restricts the assistance of the output of the engine by the motor when the remaining quantity detector detects that the remaining quantity of the fuel is under the fixed value.

摘要: A control system for an internal combustion engine has a canister for adsorbing evaporative fuel generated in the fuel tank, a purging passage extending between the canister and the intake system of the engine, for purging evaporative fuel into the intake system, and a purge control valve arranged across the purging passage, for controlling the flow rate of evaporative fuel supplied to the intake system through the purging passage. An ECU controls the engine, based on at least one predetermined engine control parameter, and a canister temperature sensor detects the temperature of the canister. The at least one predetermined engine control parameter is changed according to the detected temperature of the canister.

摘要: A method of feedback-controlling the air-fuel ratio of a mixture supplied to an internal combustion engine to a desired air-fuel ratio which is set to a value leaner than a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio, by the use of output from an exhaust gas ingredient concentration sensor, depending upon operating conditions of the engine, the desired air-fuel ratio being set to a leaner value as the transmission of the engine is set to a smaller reduction ratio. A reduction ratio to which the transmission has been set is detected. The travelling speed of a vehicle on which the engine is installed is detected. The desired air-fuel ratio is set to a richer value as the travelling speed of the vehicle is lower, insofar as the transmission is set to the same reduction ratio.

摘要: An engine control system for hybrid vehicles, so as to smoothly switch the driving operation from the cylinder-deactivated engine operation, in which at least a part of the total number of cylinders of the engine is deactivated, to the all-cylinder-activated engine operation while considering the driver's intention. When the vehicle is decelerated, the cylinder-deactivated engine operation is performed and regeneration using the motor is performed. The system includes a cylinder deactivation release determining section for releasing the cylinder-deactivated engine operation when an engine speed decreases to a reference engine speed with respect to the cylinder-deactivated engine operation; and a brake operation detecting section for detecting whether a brake pedal is depressed. The cylinder deactivation release determining section includes a cylinder deactivation condition changing section for changing the reference engine speed according to whether the brake pedal is depressed, which is detected by the brake operation detecting section.

摘要: An air-fuel ratio control method for an internal combustion engine. The air-fuel ratio of an air-fuel mixture supplied to the engine is feedback-controlled to a desired air-fuel ratio depending on operating conditions of the engine in response to output from an exhaust gas ingredient concentration sensor. The desired air-fuel ratio is settable to a value leaner than a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio when the temperature of the engine is above a predetermined reference value. The method comprises the steps of detecting a reduction ratio to which the transmission has been set, and changing the predetermined reference value of the temperature of the engine depending on the detected reduction ratio. The predetermined reference value of the temperature of the engine is set to a lower value as the reduction ratio of the transmission is smaller.
