摘要: Systems and methods relating to a face mask are described. An exemplar face mask includes: (i) a mask body including an interior side and an exterior side; (ii) inlet ports defined on the mask body; (iii) tubes designed to convey air flow or oxygen flow; (iv) tube transition features coupled to the tubes; (v) nasal prongs coupled to one of the tube transition features and designed to advance the air flow or the oxygen flow into nostrils; (vi) terminating features disposed around and for stabilizing the nasal prongs; and (vii) wherein either the tubes pass through the inlet ports such that portions of the tubes are present on the interior side or the tube transition features pass through the inlet ports such that portions of the tube transition features are present on the exterior side. An exhaust port and an exhaust tube remove exhaled air present inside the mask body.

摘要: A gas-washout vent includes a housing with a first wall with one or more passages through the wall configured to provide fluid communication with a portion of the patient interface system exposed to a therapy pressure. The passages include respective first openings on a first surface of the first wall. The housing at least partially defines a second opening in communication with ambient atmosphere. A diffusing material is located at least partially within the housing to be adjacent the first surface. A surface of the diffusing material facing the first surface is spaced away from the first surface by a gap that extends to provide a fluid communication between all of the first openings and between all of the first openings and the second opening. The housing is configured so that air is prevented from flowing out of the housing at all areas directly opposite each of the first openings.

摘要: A system for reducing airway obstructions of a patient may include a ventilator, a control unit, a gas delivery circuit with a proximal end in fluid communication with the ventilator and a distal end in fluid communication with a nasal interface, and a nasal interface. The nasal interface may include at least one jet nozzle, and at least one spontaneous respiration sensor in communication with the control unit for detecting a respiration effort pattern and a need for supporting airway patency. The system may be open to ambient. The control unit may determine more than one gas output velocities. The more than one gas output velocities may be synchronized with different parts of a spontaneous breath effort cycle, and a gas output velocity may be determined by a need for supporting airway patency.

摘要: A patient interface including a seal-forming structure with a textile membrane that has at least one hole such that the flow of air at a therapeutic pressure is delivered to at least an entrance to the patient's nares and/or an entrance to the patient's mouth. The seal-forming structure is constructed and arranged to maintain the therapeutic pressure in a cavity of a plenum chamber throughout the patient's respiratory cycle, in use. The textile membrane includes a first portion that is held in a relaxed state and a second portion that is held in a taut state. The taut state of the second portion is configured to allow the seal-forming structure to include a three-dimensional shape that has multiple curvatures.

The blower substantially separates a high pressure side of the mask body or frame from a low pressure side of the mask body or frame and/or the mask body or frame is substantially without a wall between the blower and the interior space.

摘要: A headgear for use with a patient interface for delivering a flow of breathable gas to a patient includes at least a strap adapted to position the patient interface in sealing engagement with the patient’s airways. The strap is constructed from an elastomer and a first side of the strap includes a first region on a portion of its surface that is textured to reduce friction with objects contacting the strap. A textured surface coating for a portion of an elastomer strap included in a headgear system is adapted to contact the skin of a patient, when in use, and the coating has a Ra value greater than zero. A vent for use with a patient interface for delivering a flow of breathable gas to a patient includes a plurality of rises and runs in a stepped arrangement; and a plurality of holes in the stepped arrangement for the venting of gas.
