In one embodiment, a method for fabricating a formed glass article may include forming a glass ribbon, forming a parson, and shaping the parson to form a glass article. The glass article may be attached to the glass ribbon at an attachment region defining an edge of the glass article. The process may also include contacting the attachment region with a focal line of a laser beam and separating the glass article from the glass ribbon at the attachment region. The attachment region may be perforated by the laser beam and the focal line may be substantially perpendicular to the plane of the glass ribbon.

The reflector, which can be connected to the base, has a reflector contact surface, an entry opening, an exit opening, and a longitudinal direction (L) that runs from the exit opening to the entry opening. The reflector contact surface is arranged in the longitudinal direction (L) between the entry opening and the exit opening, and the base contact surface abuts the reflector contact surface. Thus, movement of the base and/or reflector towards each other is prevented when the reflector is connected to the base. The reflector is formed in such a way that a projection of the reflector contact surface in the longitudinal direction (L) of the reflector is free of undercuts.

The network of gutters has a network gutter profile and defines an array of islands on which an array of bumps is formed. Each of the bumps has a surface with a shaped profile. The apparatus also includes a second adapted for positioning on the mold surface. The second mold has a network of protuberances defining a plurality of cavities. Each of the cavities is sized to overlap one of the bumps of the first mold. The network of protuberances has a network protuberance profile complementary to the network gutter profile.

摘要： A sliding support table to support a continuously advancing glass ribbon during severing. The ribbon is supported by and moves over the sliding support table which moves along the direction of the glass ribbon travel between stationary upstream and downstream supports. Top and bottom line heaters supported on the table direct flames towards the major surfaces of the glass ribbon along a line cut. A blade and anvil arrangement supported on the table, sever the glass along the heated line of cut when the line of cut is positioned therebetween. The table advances along with the glass ribbon to support the ribbon during the heating and severing operation. The line heaters and blade and anvil arrangement may provide both a linear or nonlinear line of cut.
