    摘要: A laminated, bent, safety glass panel (30) for architectural or interior uses and a method of manufacturing such panels. The panel comprises a single heat-treated bent glass sheet, fully-tempered or heat-strengthened, forming a substrate (32) encapsulated by at least one thin, chemically-strengthened, glass veneer sheet (38). The veneer sheet (38), an alkali-aluminosilicate or other alkali-containing glass recipe strengthened by ion-exchange treatment, is cold-bent over a polymer interlayer (40) and permanently laminated to form a protective barrier on the heat-treated glass that dampens the explosive release of its internal residual stresses in the event of breakage thereby preventing particles dislodging and subsequent disintegration. The vulnerable perimeter (37) and perforation (45) edges of the veneer sheet (38) are equal in size or inset to the edges of the heat-treated substrate (32) with its deeper robust compressive stresses. Veneers may be laminated to both major substrate surfaces.

    摘要: A glass sheet cutting device fuses and divides a glass substrate using a preset cutting line as a boundary while supplying an assist gas and a laser beam from above the glass substrate along the preset cutting line of the glass substrate. The glass sheet cutting device includes a first laser irradiator for radiating a fusing laser beam and a second laser irradiator for radiating an annealing laser beam. Through a fusing gap formed between fused end surfaces by fusing, the second laser irradiator radiates the annealing laser beam obliquely from above onto the fused end surface to be annealed.

    摘要: The invention relates to methods for processing glass objects, in particular, to methods of blunting sharp edges of glass objects. A method comprises treating a glass edge with a focused laser beam, while relatively moving the glass object and/or the beam, said treating of the glass edge being carried out with a laser beam having a ring-shaped section, during which the glass edge is heated with the laser beam to a temperature above glass transition temperature, T>Tg. The method provides the creation of tempered glass sections of desired shape and size in the near-edge area due to the provision of thermal stresses in these areas, which cause the formation of a chamfer with rounded or blunt ends on the glass at brittle fracture.
