    摘要: A method and apparatus for improved latent heat extraction combines a run-around coil system with a condenser heat recovery system to enhance the moisture removing capability of a conventional vapor compression air conditioning unit. The run-around coil system exchanges energy between the return and supply air flows of the air conditioning unit. Energy recovered in the condenser heat recovery system is selectively combined with the run-around system energy extracted from the return air flow to reheat the supply air stream for downstream humidity control. A control system regulates the relative proportions of the extracted return air flow energy and recovered heat energy delivered to the reheat coil for efficient control over moisture in the supply air flow. Auxiliary energy in the form of electric heat energy is further added to the recovered heat energy for additional reheat use. In water cooled condenser unit systems, the cooling medium is shared and selectively exchanged between the air conditioning system and the run-around coil system. In another mode, a chiller/heater interfaces a chilled water circulating loop with a hot water circulating loop including a run-around coil system.

    摘要: The invention concerns a method for speed control of a compressor, particularly a refrigeration compressor, and a control arrangement using this method. The speed control is effected in that a control arrangement varies the speed of an electric motor in dependence of simple ON/OFF signals from a thermostat placed in the surroundings to be cooled. The method according to the invention is characterized in that the starting speed of the compressor in a following ON period is reduced in relation to the final speed in the previous ON period. A continuous reduction of the starting speed of each ON period results in a self-regulating control giving long compressor operation times and an averagely low speed resulting in energy savings. A control arrangement using this method is also described.

    摘要: A control apparatus for controlling motors of an air conditioner comprises a converter circuit having switching circuitry for converting AC power to DC power and setting an input voltage of an input alternating current waveform to a sine wave of the same phase as that of an input voltage, first and second brushless motors for driving a compressor and a blower, first and second inverter circuits for converting the converted DC power to AC power and supplying AC power to the first and second brushless motors, and a microcomputer for controlling the compressor and the blower of the air conditioner. The microcomputer is constructed in such a manner that input and output operations which are necessary to control the air conditioner are executed for input and output circuits, thereby controlling at least the compressor and the blower of the air conditioner. To improve the input power factor from the AC power, a PWM signal for controlling the ON/OFF state of the switching circuitry of the converter circuit is generated by the microcomputer on the basis of the input alternating current of the AC power and the output DC voltage of the converter circuit. At the same time, PWM signals for controlling the ON/OFF state of switching circuitry of the inverter circuits are generated by the microcomputer to control the first and second motors.

    摘要: A method for adjusting an air conditioner compressor for a particular vehicle application involves selecting the proper control curve. The control curve is a graph of suction inlet pressure verses discharge pressure. The graph has a linear portion over which increased discharge pressure decreases suction pressure. The low demand condition at which suction pressure is highest and discharge pressure lowest may result in an evaporator outlet pressure that is too high or too low. To change the evaporator outlet pressure, the control valve for the compressor is adjusted or replaced to vary the slope of the linear portion of the control curve. Varying the slope will change the maximum suction pressure to reach an optimized solution under low demand conditions. The slope is varied by changing a bias pin in the modular control valve to one of a different diameter. The bias pin is one factor that controls the opening and closing of the valve to vary the capacity of the compressor.
