摘要: A programmable controller is provided that is capable of interfacing with a remote master controller, where the programmable controller is capable of controlling an input current to at least one load that is proximate the programmable controller. The programmable controller includes at least one solid-state switch capable of controllably altering the input current to the loads. The programmable controller also includes at least one measuring element for measuring at least one parameter associated with the loads and the solid-state switches, such as the current through the solid-state switches, the current through and voltage drop across the loads and/or the temperature at or around the solid-state switches. Additionally, the programmable controller includes a processing element capable of controlling the solid-state switches, such as by controlling the current through the solid-state switches to the loads.

摘要: A control method includes calculating a switching temperature indicating a maximum outside air temperature at which a temperature of the unknown electronic component attached within an enclosure does not exceed the operation-guaranteed temperature, based on a temperature of an electronic component for which a relationship between power consumption and a temperature of the electronic component is already known, the temperature of the electronic component corresponding to maximum power consumption of an electronic component for which a relationship between power consumption and the temperature of the electronic component is unknown, and on an operation-guaranteed temperature of the unknown electronic component; and setting the number of revolutions of a fan to a value for suppressing the temperature of the unknown electronic component to a level less than or equal to the operation-guaranteed temperature, when an outside air temperature exceeds the switching temperature during attachment of the unknown electronic component within the enclosure.

摘要: A field device, comprising a sensor, and a control/evaluation unit. The control/evaluation unit is implemented on an application-specific integrated circuit—an ASIC—which, in at least a first section and in a second section, is embodied as a dynamically reconfigurable logic chip. In each of the two sections, in each case, a measuring path composed of a plurality of function modules can be configured; wherein the individual sections are spaced apart from one another in such a manner, that a temperature and/or a voltage change in one of the sections has no influence on the other section or the other sections. The control/evaluation unit partially dynamically reconfigures the function modules in the measuring paths as a function of the particular defined safety-critical application, so that the field device fulfills the required safety standard.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for temperature management in a network (1) with ring topology, wherein control devices (2) exchange data via the network (1) by means of transmitting/receiving units. The object of the present invention is to find a method and a data bus system which increases the fail safety of a network (1) with ring topology. For this purpose, the temperature near to the transmitting/measuring unit of at least one control device (2) is measured. As soon as the temperature at the transmitting/receiving unit (2) of the control device exceeds a predefined critical temperature Tkrit, the transmitting/receiving unit is switched off and wakeup requests put onto the network (1) by the control devices (2) are blocked.

摘要: A method for reducing thermal dissipation in a single PLC package includes implementing a pulse width modulated current regulator including a field effect transistor (FET) switch, and utilizing a turn on delay of the FET to provide a wide operating range of current. The FET has an inherent turn-on time delay that can be exploited such that, as the duty cycle is reduced, the FET's drain to source impedance dominates an inductive path of an output filter and increases output filtering.
