    摘要: A process is provided for the isolation of two protein fractions herein termed the "blocking protein fractions" or "Blocker I" and "Blocker II," from mammalian blood. The process comprises a series of centrifugal separations of blood fractions under conditions which maintain the integrity of the desired material as it existed in vivo. These blocking protein fractions are new materials and they constitute another aspect of the invention. Isolated Blocker I and Blocker II, which are natural proteins or derivatives thereof, are useful to prevent tissue implant rejection, and as standards for the determination of the tumor remission activity of other materials isolated from blood.

    摘要: The anti-antihemocytic serum comprises water-soluble proteins in a physiological solution isolated from cells of the bodies of insects immunized by a single injection in a dose of 0.25 .mu.l to 2.0 .mu.l for every insect with the anti-hemocytic serum produced from the plasma of the blood of an animal immunized with a suspension of hemocytes from cells of the bodies of the given species of insects. The titre of hemocytoagglutinins of the anti-antihemocytic serum is 1:256 to 1:1024. The method for the preparation of anti-antihemocytic serum resides in immunizing the given species of insects with antihemocytic serum, produced from the plasma of the blood of an animal immunized with a suspension of hemocytes from cells of the bodies of insects, by means of a single injection in a dose of 0.25 to 2.0 .mu.l for every insect, removing the hemolymph and the alimentary tract from insects in 24 hours, homogenizing the remaining cells of the bodies of insects and diluting them with a physiological solution, isolating proteins from cells of the bodies of insects by breaking the integrity of cells, and isolating the fluid from the resultant mixture separating it from the indissoluble portion of cells of the bodies of insects, obtaining the target product.

    摘要: An improved process is provided for the preparation of a gamma globulin suitable for intravenous administration from the readily available Fraction II or II + III plasma protein paste or from the corresponding fractions originating from placental extracts. The Fraction II or II + III paste is extracted with water at a pH of 4.9 to 6.0 and impurities are fractionally precipitated by addition of polyethylene glycol to 4% of wt./vol. and then 6% vol. ethanol. The desired gamma globulin is then precipitated at a pH 8.0 by addition of polyethylene glycol to 12% wt./vol.

    摘要: The present invention is concerned with novel derivatives of cyanocobalamin (vitamin B.sub.12), especially of the monocarboxylic acid hydrolysates thereof, by which (1) an antigenic conjugate thereof with a protein is obtainable and (2) a readily iodinatable aromatic ring can be introduced while retaining in each instance, the essential constitution of cyanocobalamin to such an extent that (a) the antigenic protein conjugate, when introduced into the blood stream of a vertebrate, causes the formation of an antibody which is specific to the cyanocobalamin portion of the conjugate and (b) unmodified cyanocobalamin and the second-mentioned derivative when tagged or labeled with radioactive-iodine competitively bind on the aforementioned antibody. Thus, the present invention provides cyanocobalamin derivatives which are quite useful in radioimmunoassay (RIA) of vitamin B.sub.12.
