摘要: A process is described for producing metallurgical coke from poor coking coals in which there is combined with the poor coking coals a small amount of an additive consisting of a bitumen residue obtained from hydrocracking of bitumen from tar sands. The residue used is that from vacuum distillation of a heavy hydrocarbon bottoms material obtained from hydrocracking of the bitumen. A high boiling organic residue from vacuum distillation to an equivalent atmospheric boiling temperature of 524.degree. C. is preferred. The novel additive is superior in its ability to penetrate into cavities and provide excellent bonding of the components of the coal.

摘要: Solid organic wastes are slurried with hot coker recycle feed or fresh petroleum feedstocks at temperatures within the range from about 300.degree. to 1000.degree. F and the resulting mixture is coked to produce gas, oil, and coke. The oil can be used as clean liquid fuel, but preferably it is used as catalytic craker feed since it is a particularly suitable cracking stock and produces high yields of gasoline. This process affords a low-cost waste disposal method by a process compatible with current petroleum refining technology.

摘要: Clusters of petroleum coke pellets are made by the steps of dispersing particulate carbon seed particles in a high boiling petroleum oil, heating the seeded oil in a coking heater under conditions of controlled cracking, and introducing the effluent from the heater into a coke drum where the seed particles serve as nucleating agents in the formation of clusters of petroleum coke pellets.

摘要: A feedstock is processed in a coking zone unit to produce at least light gases, coker naphtha, light coker gas oil and petroleum coke. Light coker gas oil, and in certain embodiments hydrotreated light coker gas oil, is subjected to deep hydrogenation to produce a deeply hydrogenated middle distillate fraction. All or a portion of the deeply hydrogenated middle distillate fraction is used as feed to a petrochemicals production complex to produce light olefins.

摘要: The present invention is directed to a method, apparatus and system that are configured to process asphalt roofing shingles so that solid constituent components of such asphalt roofing shingles may be used in asphalt mixtures. The present invention may include pyrolysis of asphalt binder present in the asphalt roofing shingles in order to develop a layer of coke on the solid constituent components, so that the solid constituent components may be suitable for use in the asphalt mixtures in quantities of 5 to 30% by weight of the total weight of the asphalt mixtures. The present invention is also directed to the asphalt mixtures that include 5 to 30% by weight of the solid constituent components of the asphalt roofing shingles that have been processed in accordance with the method, apparatus and/or system of the present invention.

摘要: A feed injector for a circulating fluid bed reactor is fitted with a discharge nozzle with a circular, radially notched discharge orifice to improve the surface-to-volume ratio of the spray pattern formed by the nozzle. The feed injector is useful for injecting fluids into various types of circulating fluid bed reactors in which good contact between the components of the fluidized bed and the injected fluid is required. It is particularly useful in fluid coking reactors.

摘要: The liquid feed nozzle assemblies for a circulating fluid bed reactor comprise (i) a throttle body premixer to combine liquid feed with atomization steam to form a liquid feed/steam mixture comprising gas bubbles in liquid; (ii) a conduit connected to the premixer and to a discharge nozzle to convey a flow of the liquid/steam mixture created by the premixer to the nozzle body; (iii) a discharge nozzle connected to the flow conduit to shear the liquid feed/steam mixture to create liquid feed droplets of reduced size and (iv) a disperser at the outlet of the discharge nozzle to provide a spray jet of liquid feed having an increased surface area relative to a cylindrical jet. The nozzle assembles are particularly useful in fluid coking units using heavy oil feeds such a tar sands bitumen.
