Abstract: A non-woven fabric body (11) that forms a non-woven fabric (1) is formed by integrating composite polyester fibers (2) and flame-retardant acrylic fibers (3) which serve as the other fibers of the rest. The composite polyester fibers (2) have a core-sheath structure in which a sheath portion (4) is formed of a low melting point polyester and a core portion (5) is formed of a high melting point polyester having a higher melting point than that of the low melting point polyester. The composite polyester fibers (2) are contained in an amount of 15% to 80% by weight in a total of 100% by weight of the non-woven fabric body (11). Further, an apparent density of the non-woven fabric body (11) ((a basis weight of the non-woven fabric body)/(a thickness of the non-woven fabric body)) is 0.005 g/cm3 to 0.040 g/cm3. In addition, a bending resistance of the non-woven fabric body (11) in a flow direction of the fibers is 50 mN·cm to 220 mN·cm, and a bending resistance in a width direction that is orthogonal to the flow direction is 20 mN·cm to 140 mN·cm.

Due to expansion or contraction of the one or more first fibers, the first region contracts or expands on a change in relative humidity, relative to an equilibrium state of the first region prior to the change in relative humidity.

The at least partial bonding including thermally activated bonds between a first polyolefin material produced with a catalyst including at least one metallocene catalyst and having a melting point in the range 130-170° C. and a second material having a melting point which is at least 10° C. higher than the melting point of the first material, the weight of the first material in the non-woven structure being at least 3% of the weight of the nonwoven structure.

Abstract: A spunbond nonwoven laminate has a plurality of stacked spunbond nonwoven layers, namely at least two and at most four spunbond nonwoven layers that have crimped continuous filaments or consist of crimped continuous filaments. The degree of crimping of the filaments is different in each of these spunbond nonwoven layers, and each of the crimped filaments of the spunbond nonwoven layers has a crimp with at least two, preferably at least three, and more preferably with at least four loops per centimeter of length. The crimped filaments of the spunbond nonwoven layers are multicomponent filaments, particularly bicomponent filaments, with a first plastic component and a second plastic component present in the respective filament in a proportion of at least 10 wt %.

Abstract: Provided is a composite sheet that is particularly useful as an AQDL component in absorbent articles. The composite sheet includes a fluid acquisition component and an airlaid component. The airlaid component may include one or more airlaid layers that are successively formed overlying each other. Each of the airlaid layers are adjacent to, and in direct contact with, immediately adjacent layers of the airlaid component so that adjacent layers are in fluid communication with respect to each other. The fluid acquisition component includes a nonwoven fabric comprising a carded nonwoven fabric comprised of a plurality of staple fibers that are air through bonded to each other to form a coherent nonwoven fabric. The airlaid layer(s) include a blend of cellulose and non-cellulose staple fibers. The staple fibers may be bicomponent fibers having a polyethyelene sheath and a polypropylene or polyethylene terephthalate core, and mixtures of such fibers.

A method can include providing a first supply of fibers, providing a second supply of fibers, and providing a headbox. The headbox can include a machine direction, a cross-direction, and a first cross-directional divider that separates a first zone of the headbox from a second zone of the headbox in a cross-directional manner. The method can further include transferring the first supply of fibers and the second supply of fibers to the headbox. The method can also include transferring the first supply of fibers and the second supply of fibers through the headbox to provide the substrate.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for producing a zoned and/or layered substrate are described. A substrate can include a first layer including a first zone, a second zone, and an interface between zones. The first zone can include a plurality of fibers. The second zone can include a plurality of fibers and can be offset from the first zone in a cross-direction. The interface can include at least some of the plurality of fibers of the first zone and at least some of the plurality of fibers of the second zone to provide a purity gradient with a transition width less than 3.8 cm as defined by the Purity Gradient Test Method as described herein.

Abstract: A liner, comprising a layered material in which a carded nonwoven wadding is thermally bonded to a thin carded nonwoven top layer, for upholstered furniture. In the liner, a high proportion of the staple fibers in the top layer are thin bi-component binder fibers. Further, at least 20 wt % of the staple fibers in the wadding is thick staple fibers. Furthermore, also the wadding comprises bi-component binder fibers.

Abstract: This application relates to a high-strength protective cloth with moisture permeability and a manufacturing method thereof. The method includes: providing a first fiber thread and a second fiber thread; respectively forming a moisture-permeable membrane on a surface of an arrangement layer formed by the first fiber thread and a surface of an arrangement layer formed by the second fiber thread; and combining the first fiber thread and the second fiber thread in pairs by intersecting and laminating to form laminated bonding, where the first fiber thread and the second fiber thread with the moisture-permeable membrane are used as two opposite surface layers of the laminated bonding to allow the laminated bonding to form a corresponding moisture-permeable membrane layer. This application provides a high-level protective cloth with excellent moisture permeability and high-strength protective performance, and optimizes the moisture permeability of the protective cloth.
