The method involves coordinating the operation of at least two mining conveyors to facilitate mining at least one arc-shaped sector of ore that otherwise would not be within operational reach of the slurry facility at the ore processing location. The method increases the slurry facility's operational time at the ore processing location before relocation thereof is required to keep the slurry facility within operational reach of at least one receding mine face.

    摘要: An underwater load-carrier is disclosed that includes an underwater-balloon detachably attached to a container that is loaded with ballast. The underwater load-carrier is lowered into the water of an ocean and allowed to descend to the ocean bottom and there connected a mining-vehicle. The mining-vehicle loads mined nodules into the container while the container ejects ballast to maintain the container at a specified altitude above the ocean bottom. When nodule loading is complete, nodules and/or ballast is ejected to allow underwater load-carrier to rise to the ocean surface where mined nodules is unloaded from the container.

    摘要: An apparatus, system and method for removing and treating contaminated materials on a bottom of a body of water and introducing growth packets to revitalize the treated bottom of the body of water. The structure may comprise a vessel with an open face. The vessel may be lowered down to the bottom of the body of water with the face facing down. As a result, the vessel and the bottom form an isolated space. The structure may comprise at least one agitating device(s) for stirring up the materials inside the vessel so as to form a mixture containing the sediment materials which in turn contain the contaminants. Multiple at least one pipe(s) may be coupled to the vessel for transporting the mixture out of the vessel for processing (filtering, treating with chemicals, etc.) so as to neutralize or eliminate the contaminants in the mixture. Then, the treated mixture can be returned to the inside of the vessel via the at least one pipe(s).

    摘要: A pair of cylindrical composite rollers formed of a metallic drum having a thick outer elastomeric layer are mounted transversely in a rectangular frame of a drilling mud separation unit over which a wide endless-loop chain-link belt is driven in a continuous loop moving along the longitudinal axis of the frame. The drive roller has a plurality of axially spaced circumferential rows of radially extending teeth that are machined in the surface of the elastomeric material. The endless belt is formed of a plurality of laterally adjacent jointed links hinged together by transverse rods. As drilling mud or drilling fluids are conducted onto the moving belt, liquids and particles smaller than the openings in the belt pass through the openings and liquids and particles larger than the openings are transported on the moving belt and are discharged off of one end as the belt completes its path. The teeth of the drive roller are sized and spaced to receive and engage the plurality of laterally adjacent jointed links of the wide belt and are of sufficient length to protrude slightly beyond the outer surface of the links as they pass around the front drive roller to dislodge gumbo and other large solids which may otherwise stick in the openings of the links and clog the belt. The elastomeric roller surfaces and teeth reduce wear and prevent metal-to-metal contact and sparking.
