A fuel injector for fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines has a solenoid operable via an electric wire, a valve sleeve in an injection-side area forming an external sheathing of the fuel injector, and a valve housing. The fuel injector has a plastic sleeve, which contains the solenoid and the electric wire and can be pushed onto the valve sleeve.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a valve arrangement (2) for metering a fluid medium into an exhaust line (22), comprising a valve seat (10) which acts together with a closing body (12) and in which a valve passage (14) is implemented, and a perforated disc (6) that is disposed downstream of the valve seat, closes off the valve passage, and has at least one axial hole (8) in the area of the valve passage through which the fluid medium can be injected into the exhaust line (22). The valve arrangement further comprises a connecting flange (16) for connecting the valve arrangement (2) to the exhaust line (22) in a fluid-tight manner, wherein the perforated disc (6) extends from the valve passage to the connecting flange and is implemented such that said perforated disc seals the connecting flange against the exhaust line in a fluid-tight manner in the installed state. A separate seal is thus no longer required, because the perforated disc performs the sealing function.
Abstract:
An injection hole inlet is disposed at the upstream side face of the injection hole plate in such a way that, assuming that α denotes the angle between respective lines obtained by vertically projecting a straight line that passes through the center of the injection hole inlet and the center of the valve seat and the major axis of the injection hole inlet onto a perpendicular plane that passes through the center of the injection hole inlet and is perpendicular to the center axis of the valve seat and assuming that β denotes the angle between respective lines obtained by vertically projecting the straight line that passes through the center of the injection hole inlet and the center of the valve seat and the minor axis of the injection hole inlet onto the perpendicular plane, α
Abstract:
A conventional gasoline engine is retrofitted and calibrated to operate as a bi-fuel engine using Hydrogen as the second fuel. When operated with Hydrogen, which typically leads to a reduction of engine output power, the engine is preferably operated in a charged mode and in a lean mode with the engine throttle kept in a wide open position during charged and lean mode operation resulting in a more efficient engine with a reduction of engine output power loss.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are disclosed for inducing a supercavitating flow inside a fuel injection nozzle orifice to reduce the penetration length of the fuel spray, maintain high levels of fuel atomization, and improve uniformity of the fuel spray exiting the nozzle such that high-pressure injectors can be used on small engines. This reduction in penetration length is accomplished without any reduction in upstream fuel pressure.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a dispensing head (2) for a system for dispensing a pressurised product, said head comprising a body (8) presenting a shaft (9) for mounting said head on a tube (7) supplying the pressurised product and a housing that communicates with said shaft, said housing having an insert (11) enveloped by a sleeve (12) thereby forming a path (13) for dispensing the product between said shaft and a dispensing orifice (14) formed in a wall (15) of said sleeve, which is arranged facing a wall (16) of said insert, where at least one of the walls (15, 16) of the sleeve (12) and the insert (11) present a surface suitable for entering into contact with g the product, said surface comprising metallic copper.
Abstract:
An injection system (1) for injecting fuel at a predetermined fuel pressure has: an actuator (2, 3) providing a stroke for lifting an injector needle (4) that opens a nozzle into which the fuel is injected; a leverage apparatus (5) for translating the provided stroke into a modified stroke, the apparatus has a compensating device (6) coupled to the actuator (2, 3), and a lever device (7), which is coupled to the injector needle (4), wherein the lever device has at least two symmetrically disposed, single-arm levers (8a, 8b), which each come in contact with an injector needle head (10) of the injector needle (4) when lifting the injector needle (4) by means of a single needle head support (9a, 9b); and wherein the compensating device (6) is suited to compensate a varying force application of the actuator (2, 3) on the single-arm lever (8a, 8b).
Abstract:
A fuel injection valve of an internal combustion engine includes a measuring plate that has at least one injection hole. Fuel that has flowed along an inner wall surface of the measuring plate flows into the injection hole through an injection hole entrance that is formed in the inner wall surface of the measuring plate, passes through the injection hole, and is injected through an injection hole exit that is formed in an outer wall surface of the measuring plate. A recess is formed from an injection hole entrance rim to an injection hole exit rim in an upstream section of the inner wall surface of the injection hole in a fuel flow direction along the inner wall surface of the measuring plate.
Abstract:
An SCR-injection unit includes an injector, a sleeve element for fixing the injector to a flange of an exhaust gas pipe, and a cooling body. According to the invention, the sleeve element has an elongated thin-walled connecting section, one axial end of which is indirectly connected to the flange of the exhaust gas pipe and the other axial end of which is indirectly connected to a supporting structure for the injector.
