Abstract:
A plasma display panel is provided in which an operational quality is prevented from being deteriorated by resonance of a substrate. The plasma display panel includes a partition for dividing a discharge gas space defined by a pair of substrates and a sealing material in accordance with a cell arrangement of a display screen. There is a void space between the upper surface of the end portion of the partition and the surface of the opposed substrate, the surfaces contacting each other. The natural frequency of the portion from the inner edge of the void space to the inner edge of the sealing material is raised above audio frequency region of a human.
Abstract:
A process of producing a plasma display panel has the steps of: forming a photosensitive paste composition layer on a carrier film; transferring the photosensitive paste composition layer onto a substrate; exposing the photosensitive paste composition layer; removing the carrier film; and baking the exposed composition layer to fabricate at least one of barrier ribs, electrodes, resistors, dielectrics, phosphors, a color filter array, and a black matrix.

Almost only choice by a secondary electron emission layer/protection layer covering the dielectric layer of an AC type PDP has been magnesium oxide (MgO) that is unstable during the production process and difficult to form, thus posing a serious production problem. An AC type PDP constructed such that, instead of covering the surface of a dielectric layer (3) with a dielectric material such as MgO, an insular electrode (4) is made by forming a conductive material such as nickel, aluminum, magnesium and lanthanum hexaboride into an insular shape, and the insular electrode (4) is allowed to capacity-couple with a lower-layer bus electrode (9) by means of an electrostatic capacity formed by a dielectric layer (3) to operate the insular electrode (4) as a sustained electrode.

A plasma display panel capable of being fast driven with low voltage by reducing a distance between an address electrode and a Y electrode. The plasma display panel includes a pair of substrates, discharge electrodes, and an address electrode. The substrates are arranged at a predetermined interval to face each other and form a plurality of discharge spaces between facing surfaces of the substrates. The discharge electrodes are arranged at predetermined intervals between the substrates. The address electrode is arranged a predetermined distance apart from the discharge electrodes in a direction where the substrates are arranged, and defines each of the discharge spaces in cooperation with the discharge electrodes.
Abstract:
A design for a plasma display panel (PDP). The novel PDP has two separate layers of fluorescent material. One layer of fluorescent material can generate long wavelength from VUV rays and the other fluorescent layer can convert either of VUV or long wavelength ultraviolet rays into visible rays. Such a PDP improves the luminance efficiency by more efficiently using the UV and VUV rays generated during plasma discharge.

Disclosed is a barrier rib of a plasma display panel and forming method thereof, by which costs for fabricating the barrier rib are reduced and the fabricating method is simplified. The present invention includes forming a white paste layer on a glass substrate and forming a photosensitive black resist layer on the white paste layer, forming a photosensitive black resist pattern by patterning the photosensitive black resist layer, heating the photosensitive black resist pattern so that a wax component contained in the photosensitive black resist pattern diffuses inside the photosensitive black resist pattern, and removing a portion of the white paste layer failing to be covered with the photosensitive black resist pattern and plasticizing the photosensitive black resist pattern and the remaining photosensitive black resist pattern.

A plasma display device and its driving method are provided which are capable of displaying an excellent image, without an increase in costs caused by an increased number of driving circuits, by shortening a scanning period while writing discharge is made to occur with reliability and by improving contrast. In a plasma display panel (PDP) in the plasma display device, a group of unit cells is formed at intersecting points between each of groups of row electrodes and a group of column electrodes. Each of unit cells is made up of a display cell and auxiliary cell and is surrounded by a horizontal rib and a longitudinal rib. A horizontal communicating aperture is formed in the longitudinal rib to partition among two or more auxiliary cells and a longitudinal communicating aperture is formed in the horizontal rib to partition between the display cell and auxiliary cell both being arranged in the column direction.
Abstract:
A plasma display panel (PDP) includes a first substrate and a second substrate opposing one another with a predetermined gap therebetween. The PDP also includes first electrodes formed on a surface of the first substrate opposing the second substrate, and second electrodes formed on a surface of the second substrate opposing the first substrate. Long axes of the first electrodes intersect those of the second electrodes. Also included in the PDP are dielectric layers. One dielectric layer is formed covering the first electrodes on the first substrate, and another dielectric layer is formed covering the second electrodes on the second substrate. There is further included an MgO protection layer that is formed covering the dielectric layer on the first substrate. A crystalline orientation planes of the MgO protection layer are produced by mixing (111) planes and (110) planes, and a mixing ratio of the (111) planes and the (110) planes is settled according to a grain size of the MgO protection layer.
