摘要: A control circuit for controlling a switching stage of an electronic converter includes a first terminal configured to provide a drive signal and a second terminal configured to receive a first feedback signal. A third terminal receives a second feedback signal and a driver circuit provides the drive signal as a function of a PWM signal. A PWM signal generator circuit generates the PWM signal as a function of the first feedback signal, a reference threshold and the second feedback signal or a slope compensation signal. The control circuit is configured to sense an input signal, provide a first compensation parameter, and provide a first compensating signal as a function of a power of the input sensing signal.

摘要: A method for operating a multi-level bridge power converter of an electrical power system connected to a power grid includes receiving a commanded state for one or more switching devices thereof. The method also includes receiving a gate-emitter voltage of one or more of the switching devices. Further, the method includes comparing, via at least one comparator, the gate-emitter voltage of the one or more switching devices to a reference voltage range corresponding to the commanded state of the one or more switching devices. In addition, the method includes determining an actual state of the one or more switching devices based on the comparison. Thus, the method also includes implementing a control action based on the actual state of the one or more switching devices.

摘要: Circuits and methods for protecting a multi-level power converter using no more than two high-voltage FET switches while allowing all or most other power switches to be low-voltage FET switches. Some embodiments provide protective high-voltage top and bottom FETs designed to saturate before the remaining low-power FET switches saturate. Other embodiments may use only low-power FETs for the power switches but provide protective circuits configured to be in an always-ON (conducting) state when in normal power conversion operation, and to quickly switch to an OFF (non-conducting) state in the event of transients or a fault condition. Optionally, one or more of the protective circuits may be used in a controlled manner to limit or block current flow during certain types of fault conditions and/or to limit in-rush current during startup of a power converter.

摘要: An inverter is provided. The inverter includes a DC bus having positive and negative rails and an inverter arm coupled between the positive and negative rails of the DC bus.
