摘要: Systems and methods are provided for accessing broadcast media items and segments from non-broadcast sources. In response to detecting that a user has not finished listening to a broadcast segment (e.g., a radio segment), an electronic device can automatically identify and access an alternate, non-broadcast source for the same broadcast segment (e.g., a corresponding podcast episode). Using the electronic device, a user can play back the segment from the non-broadcast source, starting playback at the last position of the broadcast segment when the user stopped listening to the broadcast. In some embodiments, the electronic device can update library counts (e.g., play counts and new/not new tags) based on media items and segments played back as part of a media broadcast.

The service application is configured to: receive identification information related to an over-the-air radio broadcast via the port of the first server, wherein the identification information is transmitted to the first server using a radio broadcast receiver remote from the first server; communicate a request for automatic content recognition (ACR) of an Internet-based streaming version of the over-the-air radio broadcast; and receive metadata associated with the over-the-air radio broadcast in response to the request and initiate transmission of the metadata to the radio broadcast receiver.

摘要: In one embodiment, a method of displaying content portal advertisements and programming advertisements in a video delivery network environment is disclosed. The method includes providing a content portal to a plurality of viewers, the content portal for use by a viewer in navigating video programming. A content portal advertisement queue and a programming advertisement queue are received. Each programming advertisement is linked with one content portal advertisement of the content portal advertisement queue. A programming advertisement is displayed and, when the content portal is invoked immediately subsequent or concurrent to the displaying, the content portal advertisement is displayed. The content portal advertisement queue is reordered by placing the displayed content portal advertisement at the bottom of the content portal advertisement queue.

The present technology is applicable to a portable receiver that is movable, for example.
