摘要: Articles and methods of making and using the articles are provided. The articles include inorganic agglomerates having an average dimension in a range from about 50 microns to about 2 mm. The porous agglomerates each include a network of carbon or silica, and metal oxide particles embedded in the network. Some agglomerates are capable of lowering a resonant frequency of an acoustic device when the resonant frequency is in a range from about 50 Hz to about 1500 Hz.

摘要: There has been a problem that wrinkles easily occur on a carbonaceous film produced by the use of a continuous production method and on a graphite film obtained by heat-treating the carbonaceous film. In the present invention, heating treatment is carried out on a polymeric film while applying pressure to the polymeric film in the film thickness direction with the use of a continuous carbonization apparatus. This makes it possible to obtain a carbonaceous film and a graphite film in which wrinkling is reduced.

摘要: Silicon particles for active materials and electro-chemical cells are provided. The active materials comprising silicon particles described herein can be utilized as an electrode material for a battery. In certain embodiments, the composite material includes greater than 0% and less than about 90% by weight of silicon particles. The silicon particles have an average particle size between about 0.1 μm and about 30 μm and a surface including nanometer-sized features. The composite material also includes greater than 0% and less than about 90% by weight of one or more types of carbon phases. At least one of the one or more types of carbon phases is a substantially continuous phase.

摘要: A process for preparing a conductive carbonized layered article including the steps of: (I) providing a liquid carbon precursor formulation comprising (a) at least one aromatic epoxy resin; and (b)(i) at least one aromatic co-reactive curing agent, (b) (ii) at least one catalytic curing agent, or (b)(iii) a mixture thereof; wherein the liquid precursor composition has a neat viscosity of less than 10,000 mPa-s at 25° C. prior to adding optional components, prior to curing, and prior to carbonizing; and wherein the liquid precursor composition being cured has a carbon yield of at least 35 weight percent disregarding the weight of the substrate and any optional components present in the composition; (II) applying the liquid formulation of step (I) as a thin coating layer onto at least a portion of the surface of a substrate; (III) curing the liquid formulation of step (II) to form a cured product, wherein the cured product has a carbon yield of at least 35 weight percent disregarding the weight of the substrate and any optional components present in the composition; and (IV) carbonizing the cured product of step (III) to form a conductive carbonized layered article; and a conductive carbonized layered article such as a carbon optical transparent electrode (COTE) prepared by the above process.

摘要: A graphite film which is low in graphite dust generation can be produced by properly selecting acid dianhydride and diamine which constitute a polyimide film, which polyimide film is a raw material of the graphite film. Specifically, the graphite film which is low in graphite dust generation can be obtained if (1) the acid dianhydride is PMDA and the diamine has a molar ratio of ODA/PDA in a range of 100:0 to 80:20, or (2) the acid dianhydride has a molar ratio of PMDA/BPDA in a range of 80:20 to 50:50, and the diamine has a molar ratio of ODA/PDA in a range of 30:70 to 90:10.
