Abstract: Processing relaxation for aperiodic channel state information (CSI) reference signal (CSI-RS) is discussed for networks that include full dimension multiple input, multiple output (FD-MIMO) operations. A user equipment (UE) operating in such a system monitors for the presence of aperiodic CSI-RS. When such aperiodic CSI-RS are detected, the UE may provide process relaxation in CSI reporting by transmitting aperiodic CSI reporting according to an uplink shared channel limitation, or by relaxing the processing of the aperiodic CSI reporting transmitted by the UE, or a combination of both.

Abstract: Various aspects of the disclosure relate to retransmission techniques for communication of information (e.g., for wireless communication). In some aspects, if a device's first transmission including encoded data and parity information (subject to puncture) fails, the device's retransmission (e.g., in response to a NAK) involves transmitting the parity information that was punctured. In some aspects, the coding rate used for encoding the data for the first transmission is selected to meet an error rate (e.g., a block error rate) for the second transmission. The second transmission may also include repetition information that includes the encoded data. The repetition information could also include at least a portion of the encoded parity information.

The apparatus determines an uplink hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) timing based on an uplink reference subframe configuration and at least one of the dynamic UL/DL subframe configuration or a downlink reference subframe configuration. The apparatus selects an uplink subframe for communication based on the determined uplink HARQ timing.

Abstract: Dynamic channel state information (CSI) reference signal (CSI-RS) activation/deactivation via layer 1 signaling is discussed. An eNB may configure multiple dynamic CSI-RS resource configurations for a given user equipment (UE). Multiple dynamic CSI-RS configurations may be associated with CSI processes, and also one or more dynamic CSI-RS resources may be associated with multiple CSI processes. Each dynamic CSI-RS resource configuration may include the number of ports, RE locations, and power ratio, as well as the subframe configuration, which may include periodicity and subframe offset. The eNB may dynamically trigger or release the different dynamic CSI-RS resources through layer 1 signaling. Additional aspects provide for ways to determine dynamic CSI-RS transmission instances, to enhance rate matching to support dynamic CSI-RS transmissions, and to report CSI for dynamic CSI-RS resources.

Abstract: For communication utilizing polar codes, a hybrid automatic repeat request algorithm utilizing incremental redundancy (HARQ-IR) may provide increased throughput by including new data, not based on an original transmission, in a HARQ retransmission. The number of retransmitted bits and new information bits in each HARQ retransmission may be controlled in order to manage a tradeoff between increased throughput and a decreased block error rate (BLER).

Abstract: In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be a UE. The UE receives RSs from a base station. The UE determines, based on the RSs, a second CSI indicator indicating a first precoding configuration of the base station optimized to at least one of improve signal power or reduce interference in an elevation dimension. The UE determines, based on the RSs, a second CSI indicator indicating a second precoding configuration of the base station optimized to at least one of improve the signal power or reduce interference in an azimuth dimension. The UE transmits, to the base station, a first CSI report including at least the first CSI indicator.
