    Abstract: A multicylinder internal combustion engine E has a cylinder head 2; a cylinder head cover 3; an intake manifold 20 having a header body 21 disposed right above an engine body and intake runners 22; and a resonator 50. Each of the intake runners 22 has a bend 24 extending away from cylinder axes L in a longitudinal direction A2 perpendicular to the cylinder axes L, and curving so as to extend reversely toward the cylinder axes L. The resonator 50 is disposed opposite to the engine body with respect to the intake manifold 20 and is nearer to the cylinder axes L than outermost end parts 24a of the bends 24. The engine including the in take manifold and the resonator can be formed in a small dimension with respect to a longitudinal direction perpendicular to the cylinder axes, and the resonance chamber of the resonator can be easily formed to have a necessary volume.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a suction device for an internal combustion engine provided with a first manifold (1) having a slot (3). A first suction line (5) is extended from an input orifice (7) which enters the first manifold (1) to an output orifice (9) which connects the first suction line (5) to the suction line of a cylinder head of the internal combustion engine. The inventive device also comprises a second suction line (11) and a second manifold (13) provided with a second slot (15) which are orientable and interconnectable. When the second suction line is in the first pivoting position, intake air passes through the first slot (3) to the first manifold (1) and afterwards, flows to the first suction line (5). When the second suction line is in a second pivoting position, the first and second slots (3, 15) are hermetically connected to each other in such a way that intake air passes through the first slot (3) and directly through the second slot (15) in order to enter the second manifold (13) and afterwards, to flow to the first suction line (5) crossing the second suction line (11).

    Abstract: An intake manifold including a collecting pipe and a plurality of branch pipes comprises a single gas intake port, a gas outlet port opening into each branch pipe, and a gas passage extending to be divided into more than one branch passages from the gas intake port to each gas outlet port. The gas passage is configured so that the branch passages are equal in pressure loss which will be generated between the gas inlet port and each gas outlet port, and the gas passage extends to be branched in stages from the gas inlet port to each gas outlet port, forming a tournament-form configuration which is symmetrical about the gas inlet port.     Abstract: An intake manifold is provided that comprises a plurality of intake ducts, a surge tank, a vacuum chamber, and a negative pressure check valve. The negative pressure check valve enables negative pressure induced in the surge tank to flow into the vacuum chamber. Each upstream end of the intake ducts protrudes into the inside of the surge tank. Further, a pressure inlet formed inside the surge tank, to lead the negative pressure induced inside the surge tank to the negative pressure check valve, is positioned on a side closer to an engine than the respective upstream ends of the intake ducts.
