To increase the load-carrying capacity or rolling capacity of a roll assembly in a rolling mill, throttle elements are used, which shut off the lateral flow of the lubricating film in a partial region between the roll neck and the bearing surface of the roll neck bearing assembly, thereby bringing about an increase in pressure in the lubricating film. At least one throttle element is embodied as an annular segment, forming an angular shut-off region for the lubricant in the annular gap. The invention makes it possible for existing installations to be easily retrofitted, without the need for structural modifications. In the case of new installations, the same load-carrying capacity as before can be provided while the dimensions of the installation space are reduced. The load-carrying capacity of the bearing assembly can be flexibly adjusted based on the dimensions of the shut-off region for the flow of lubricant.

A continuously operating casting and rolling system with a strip tension control includes a casting unit having a melt-containing feed vessel with a horizontal casting channel and a discharge region in the form of a casting nozzle, and a primary cooling zone with two guide rolls and a circulating cooled casting strip and at least one downstream rolling unit having at least two drivable rollers. In order to minimize the tension on the cast strip, the casting unit and the subsequent rolling unit are mechanically decoupled, wherein for the decoupling at least one driver unit having at least two drivable rollers for driving the strip is arranged between the casting belt and the rolling unit.

The inlet channel communicates with the inlet and the outlet channel communicates with the outlet for the flow of the lubricant. The pump device is driven by the flow of the lubricant in the inlet. The housing of the pump device is equipped with a screw pump and a turbine, which is driven by the pressurized inflowing lubricant, in the inlet channel for driving the screw pump.

The invention relates to a device for adjusting a roll in a roll housing 210 of a roll stand. The device comprises a motor for providing an adjusting force for the roll; a drive shaft 120 that can be actuated in a rotatory manner by the motor; and a pressure spindle for transmitting the adjusting force of the motor to the roll. In order to do away with the upstream worm gear used in the prior art, according to the invention, the motor is designed in the form of a hydro- or torque-motor, the pressure spindle 130 is provided with an axially oriented cylindrical receiving space on the motor-side end face 132, the drive shaft 120 can project into the receiving area of the pressure spindle, and the pressure spindle 130 and the drive shaft 120 are coupled to one another in a rotatory manner inside the receiving area.
