Abstract:
In a digital display device, a packet based method of driving selected pixel elements by way of associated data latches included in a column driver is disclosed. For each frame lines in a video frame, a number of video data packets are provided directly to the column driver at a link rate and each of the number of data latches are populated with appropriate video data based upon video data packets within a line period τ. Selected pixel elements are driven based upon the video data.
Abstract:
A plurality of signal wires of a liquid crystal display apparatus are constituted by a plurality N of switching wires (SW1-SW3) and a plurality P of driving wires (L1-L4). The driving wires (L1-L4) are connected to P respective ones (e.g., ta1-ta4) of the plurality of signal input terminals via P switching elements (tr1-tr4). The N switching wires (SW1-SW3) are connected to the input terminals (gate electrodes) of the P switching elements connected to the respective different driving wires (L1-L4). Signals from an external control circuit (not shown) are used to control the switching elements via a driving circuit, while driving signals are supplied to the P driving wires. In this way, there is provided a liquid crystal display apparatus wherein some of the signal wires are driven in a time division manner so as to reduce the number of signal wires and wherein a part of the peripheral area of the board where the signal wires are formed is reduced in size so as to reduce the wire resistances of common wires and also reduce the size of the peripheral area.
Abstract:
In a liquid crystal display (LCD) panel based display, a method of dynamically selecting either frame rate conversion (FRC) or pixel voltage overdrive is disclosed. The method is carried out by performing the following operations. A video vertical refresh rate of an incoming video data stream is determined and based upon the determining, only one video data stream conditioning protocol from a number of available video data stream conditioning protocols is selected. The selected video data stream condition protocol is then applied to the video data stream.
Abstract:
A packet based display interface having a video processing unit arranged to couple a multimedia source device to a multimedia sink device is disclosed that includes a transmitter unit coupled to the source device arranged to receive a source packet data stream in accordance with a native stream rate, a receiver unit coupled to the sink device, and a linking unit coupling the transmitter unit and the receiver unit arranged to transfer a multimedia data packet stream formed of a number of multimedia data packets based upon the source packet data stream in accordance with a link rate between the transmitter unit and the receiver unit.

Abstract:
A flush toilet and a drain socket are provided that align the direction of waste passing through a drainage trap so as to prevent pipe clogging without impairing wastewater discharge performance by a siphon effect. The drain socket is for connecting an outlet of a trap drainage channel of a flush toilet unit and a drain pipe located external of the flush toilet unit. The drain socket includes a drain socket body provided with an inlet for coupling with the trap drainage channel and an outlet for coupling with the drain pipe, a siphon inducing region provided on an inner wall of the drain socket body for inducing a siphon effect, and a straightening vane provided upstream of the siphon inducing region of the drain socket body to extend from the inner wall in the inward direction of the channel.
Abstract:
In a DVD playback mode only, the first type interface is disabled and a DVD driver unit having a hardware DVD decoder connected to a DVD reader unit arranged to read video data from a DVD inserted therein is powered on. In the described embodiment, the DVD decoder unit is also connected to the display screen by way of a second type interface is powered on. The video data is read from the DVD by the DVD reader unit and sent by the DVD reader unit to the hardware DVD decoder unit which then decodes the video data before passing it directly to a timing controller unit coupled to the display screen by way of the second type interface. The timing controller unit converts the video data at a native resolution to a display screen resolution that is then displayed on the display screen.

Abstract:
According to a first aspect of the present invention, a plurality of PN junctions are formed at the surface of a semiconductor substrate under a belt-like conductive film having a spiral shape which constitutes an inductance device. An inverted bias voltage is applied to the PN junctions, and the surface of the substrate is completely depleted. Since the inverted bias voltage is applied to the PN junctions, even though the impurity density of the surface of the substrate is high and the adjacent PN junctions are separated to a degree, the extension of the depletion layers can be increased and complete depletion of the surface of the substrate can be achieved.
