Abstract: A vehicle may traverse a portion of a vehicle transportation network, which may include a processor of the vehicle executing instructions to identify a first vehicle operation assistance information item, and, on a condition that an immanency for the first vehicle operation assistance information item is within a maximum relevant immanence and a utility metric for the first vehicle operation assistance information item indicates high utility, present a representation of the first vehicle operation assistance information item by, on a condition that a first urgency identified based on the immanency indicates a warning urgency or an advisory urgency, controlling a primary graphical display portion to present a first portion of a graphical representation of the first vehicle operation assistance information item, and controlling a secondary graphical display portion to present a second portion of the graphical representation.

Abstract: A vehicle HVAC noise control system includes an air handler, a blower motor, an audio event device and a controller. The air handler is connected to a passenger compartment. The blower motor is operably connected to the air handler to provide a plurality of airflow rates for air flowing into a passenger compartment. The audio event device produces an audio event to the passenger compartment. The controller is operatively connected to the blower motor and the audio event device. The controller controls operation of the blower motor initially at an operating airflow rate and subsequently switches to a noise reducing airflow rate in response to a signal from the audio event device indicating that the audio event device will subsequently produce the audio event.

Abstract: For each vehicle of multiple vehicles, a first location for a service is associated with a first cell identifier of a grid, which is in turn compared to travel segments based on historical trips of the vehicle. At least some of the grid cells are associated with the historical trips, and the cell size indicates a maximum acceptable deviation from a travel segment. Travel segments include a start cell identifier, a start time, an end cell identifier, and an end time. When the first cell identifier matches the start or end cell identifier, whether the first time associated with the first location overlaps the start or end time is determined. When such an overlap exists, the vehicle is identified in a list of candidate vehicles for the service. An instruction to a candidate vehicle in the list causes the candidate vehicle to perform at least a portion of the service.

Abstract: A vehicle accessory power management assembly includes a vehicle speed sensor, an accelerator sensor, an accessory device, a power transmitting device and a controller. The power transmitting device receives rotational power from a power device and transmits it to the accessory device. The power transmitting device is switchable between a first operating state and a second operating state. In the first operating state the accessory device is operated at a first power consumption level and in the second operating state the accessory device is operated at a second power consumption level lower than the first power consumption level. The controller is configured to switch the switching part from the first operating state to the second operating state in response to determining that a current level of acceleration requested of the power device is of greater importance than operating the accessory device at the first operating state.

Abstract: A vehicle wiper system includes a plurality of first sensor elements, an adjustable wiper, and a second sensor. The plurality of first sensor elements is configured to be disposed at a periphery of a vehicle window to form a boundary. The adjustable wiper has a distal end and a proximal end, and an adjustment mechanism that enables a distance between the distal end and the proximal end to change. The adjustable wiper is configured to travel along a windshield to define a wiper path. The second sensor element is disposed adjacent the distal end, and is configured to operate in conjunction with the first sensor element to adjust the adjustable wiper such that a distance between the distal end and the proximal end changes, and a distance between the distal end of the wiper and the boundary remains substantially consistent as the adjustable wiper travels along the wiper path.

Abstract: A method of exhaust braking a vehicle includes determining a wheel slip ratio based on input from vehicle sensors. Based on a determination that the wheel slip ratio is unstable, the method further includes sending a command to reduce exhaust braking. Based on a determination that exhaust braking is reduced, the method further includes determining a change in wheel slip ratio over time based on input from the vehicle sensors. Based on a determination that the change in wheel slip ratio over time is stabilizing, the method further includes sending a command to increase exhaust braking.
