Abstract:
The invention refers to a method for forming particles or droplets of at least one substance comprising the steps of providing a foamed medium, which foamed medium comprises said substance, and forming particles or droplets of said substance at least partly by electrostatic processing. The use of foamed medium in electrostatic processing enables higher production speeds and increases the evenness of a coating layer formed by electrospinning or electrospraying the particles or droplets on a substrate.
Abstract:
To provide a (homogeneous) particle deposit without any impurity contamination, on which only particles with a desired size are deposited. A solution, with particles dispersed in a solvent, is jetted as a flow of fine liquid droplets from a tip part of a capillary, and the jetted fine liquid droplets are electrically charged. This flow of the droplets is introduced into a vacuum chamber through a jet nozzle, as a free jet flow. The free jet flow that travels in the vacuum chamber is introduced into an inside of a deposition chamber, inside of which is set at lower pressure, through a skimmer nozzle provided in the deposition chamber, as an ion beam. Subsequently, by an energy separation device, only particles having particular energy are selected from the electrically charged particles in the flow, and are deposited on a deposited body disposed in an inside of the deposition chamber.
Abstract:
A method for depositing controlled quantity of particles on a substrate comprises providing aerosolized particles in a deposition zone having first and second electrodes, and creating an electrostatic field between the first electrode and the second electrode to create a pool of ions at the first electrode, charging particles within the deposition zone with the ions, and moving the particles towards and depositing the particles onto the substrate. In order to prevent excessive charge build up on the substrate, the electrostatic field is periodically reversed.
Abstract:
In a method for applying an electrical insulation to a ferromagnetic body, provided with axial slots for receiving an electrical winding, of a primary element of an electrical machine, particularly to a slotted armature body of an armature of a direct-current motor, the body is coated with electrostatically charged plastic powder. For improving the economy of the method with a view to low system costs and great ease of maintenance while assuring reliable slot insulation, the coating is done with a high layer thickness by direct powder spraying onto the grounded body.
Abstract:
A film is formed on a planar surface by applying a granular layer on the planar surface by using electrostatic forces, and then finishing the granular layer to form the film. A converting line may be rebuilt to have devices employing this method. A multilayer sheet-like product comprising a film layer may be produced.
Abstract:
A fiber planted steel sheet obtained by forming only a fiber planting layer having excellent adhesion to a substrate made from a composition having special composition on the surface of a surface treated steel sheet as a substrate without forming a primer of a polyester synthetic resin containing an anticorrosive pigment and the like and electrostatically planting short fibers in the planting layer. Therefore, the electrostatically fiber planted steel sheet is produced by coating an aqueous adhesive composition for planting fibers comprising an emulsion resin having a glass transition temperature of −40 to 40° C., aqueous coloring pigment dispersion, defoamer and pH modifier on the surface of the surface treated steel sheet to form a fiber planting layer having excellent adhesion to the steel sheet on the surface of the steel sheet and electrostatically planting short fibers while the surface of the planting layer retains adhesion.
Abstract:
A powdery layer is formed on a first side of a web (W) which serves as a substrate by applying electrically charged particles on the web while a rotating grounding electrode is located at a second side of the web.
Abstract:
Disclosed are environmentally friendly, substantially all solids coating compositions which are curable using ultra violet and visible radiation. In addition, methods for coating surfaces, or at least a portion of the surfaces, and curing of the coated surface to obtain partially or fully cured coated surfaces are also disclosed. Furthermore, articles of manufacture incorporating fully cured coated surfaces are disclosed, in particular motor vehicles and motor vehicle parts or accessories.

Abstract:
A piston-cylinder unit, in particular gas spring, has a cylindrical pressure tube which has a surface protection on its outer surface. The piston-cylinder unit further has a piston, which is axially displaceable within the pressure tube and has a piston rod. The piston rod is led out of the pressure tube in a sealed manner through an end side opening at a piston-rod-exit end side of the pressure tube. To improve the corrosion prevention properties and the durability of the surface protection, an end region of the pressure tube which starts from the piston-rod-exit end side is excluded from the surface protection. A process for producing such a piston-cylinder unit is also disclosed.
