Abstract: A device includes an OLED pixel and a control circuit controlled at a refresh rate thereof. The device includes first and second dummy control circuits having similar operating characteristics to the control circuit. A controller and logic circuit switch on the first and second dummy control circuits and apply an input voltage so the first and second dummy control circuits output first and second output voltages. At a first time, the controller and logic circuit switch off the second dummy control circuit so a leakage current flows through the second dummy control circuit to ground, causing the second output voltage to reduce. Comparison circuitry determines a second time at which, due to the reduction of the second output voltage, a difference between the first and second output voltages is greater than a threshold. Determination circuitry determines the refresh frequency based upon elapsed time between the first and second times.

Abstract: An overvoltage protection device protects a half bridge circuit that receives a supply voltage. The overvoltage protection device includes a high speed overvoltage detector that receives the supply voltage, detects whether an overvoltage situation is present, and outputs an overvoltage signal that disables the switches of the half bridge circuit before the switches can be damaged by the overvoltage situation. With both the switches of the half-bridge disabled, the entire supply voltage appears across the two switches in series, by which each switch only receives half the entire voltage. Thus, by quickly disabling both switches of the half-bridge each switch only needs a maximum voltage rating equal to half the maximum voltage rating of the half bridge circuit as a whole. This leads to reduced size and cost for the switches of the half-bridge circuit.

Abstract: An actively transmitting tag detects a shift of a phase of an antenna signal (as) with regard to a phase of a transmitted signal (ts) in time intervals with a length of one half-period of a subcarrier, in which time intervals it transmits high-frequency wave packets with their phase being inverted according to a communication protocol at the ends of said half-periods. Generation of said wave packets is controlled by said phase shift in a way that said phase shift retains its absolute value at transitions into subsequent half-periods. Synchronizing the tag's transmission to a received interrogator signal carried out even during tag's transmitting enables the tag to transmit according to protocol ISO 14443 B by inverting a phase at transitions between said half-periods. Said synchronizing is carried out although no time window without a tag transmitting exists within the transmitted data frame.

Abstract: A sense amplifier enable signal generating circuit includes an input coupled to a dummy bit line of a memory. A voltage comparator circuit compares a voltage on the dummy bit line to a threshold voltage and generates an output signal when the voltage falls below that threshold voltage. A multi-bit counter circuit counts a count value in response to the output signal. A pull-up circuit pulls up the voltage on the dummy bit line in response to the output signal. A count comparator circuit compares the count value to a count threshold and generates a sense amplifier enable signal when the count value equals the count threshold.
