Abstract: Methods of making metal-organic frameworks in yields of at least about 50 percent by volume of metal-organic frameworks in a metal-organic framework material per liter of synthesis solution and/or about 75 molar percent of metal-organic frameworks in a metal-organic framework material are provided. Methods of making MOF Cu(Qc)2 in aqueous solutions are further provided where a solvent composition of less than about 30% volume water is combined with a buffer and a plurality of reagents to provide the synthesis solution.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for co-processing of renewable distillate fractions with mineral fractions to produce at least a jet (or kerosene) boiling range product and a diesel boiling range product. A combination of a jet boiling range product fraction and a diesel boiling range product fraction with unexpected properties can be formed by first blending i) a distillate boiling range feed fraction containing a renewable distillate component with ii) a mineral feed fraction (possibly corresponding to a whole or partial crude oil) that includes diesel boiling range compounds to form a blended composition. The blended composition can then be fractionated to form a jet boiling range product fraction and a diesel boiling range product fraction. Optionally, the resulting jet boiling range product fraction and/or diesel boiling range product fraction can be exposed to further processing, such as hydroprocessing or catalytic cracking.

The fracturing fluid includes a carrier fluid, as well as proppant particulates composed of delayed coke material. The method includes introducing the fracturing fluid into a subterranean formation and (optionally) depositing at least a portion of the proppant particulates within one or more fractures in the subterranean formation.

Abstract: A plunger lift system, as well as a method for monitoring plunger parameters within a wellbore using such a plunger lift system, are provided. The plunger lift system includes a lubricator attached to a wellhead at the surface and a plunger dimensioned to travel through the production tubing upon being released from the lubricator. The plunger lift system also includes magnetic sensor systems installed along the production tubing, where each magnetic sensor system includes a magnetic sensor for detecting the passage of the plunger as it travels through the production tubing, as well a communication device for transmitting communication signals between the magnetic sensor systems and a computing system located at the surface, where the computing system includes a processor and a non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium including computer-executable instructions that direct the processor to dynamically determine the plunger position and/or velocity based on the received communication signals.

Abstract: A nonlimiting example method for producing a diesel boiling range composition comprises: oligomerizing an ethylene stream to a C4+ olefin stream in a first olefin oligomerization unit, wherein the C4+ olefin stream contains no greater than 10 wt % of methane, ethylene, and ethane combined in a first oligomerization; and wherein the ethylene stream contains at least 50 wt % ethylene, at least 2000 wppm ethane, no greater than 1000 wppm of methane, and no greater than 20 wppm each of carbon monoxide and hydrogen; oligomerizing the C4+ olefin stream and a propylene/C4+ olefin stream in a second oligomerization unit to produce an isoolefinic stream; wherein at least a portion of the isoolefinic stream is used to create the diesel boiling range composition.

Abstract: A method and system are described for communicating within a system, which may be along tubular members and used during gravel pack operations. The method includes constructing a communication network and installing the communication nodes along the gravel pack system. The communication nodes are used to monitor the formation of the gravel pack for voids or gaps during the gravel pack operations. Once the gravel pack is installed, the gravel pack operations may be used for hydrocarbon operations, such as hydrocarbon exploration, hydrocarbon development, and/or hydrocarbon production.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for performing ammonia cracking as the endothermic reaction step of a reaction cycle in a cyclic reaction environment, such as a reverse flow reaction environment. In such aspects, heat for the endothermic reaction can be provided by direct heating during a regeneration step. Optionally, the fuel for the regeneration step can correspond to additional ammonia and/or can include hydrogen generated during the ammonia cracking reaction step. Optionally, a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) zone can be included as part of the reactor, to reduce or minimize the amount of nitrogen oxides in the regeneration effluent from the reactor.

Abstract: A method of analyzing a lubricating oil may include: measuring a first concentration of components in a lubricating oil prior to introduction into a cylinder in a two-stroke engine using x-ray fluorescence, the components comprising: sulfur and total calcium; collecting a scrape-down lubricating oil that corresponds to the lubricating oil after having been passed through the cylinder during fuel combustion of a fuel comprising 0.5 wt % or less sulfur; measuring a second concentration of the components in the scrape-down lubricating oil using the x-ray fluorescence; and calculating an amount of acid neutralized during combustion based on the first and second concentration of the components. Based on said analysis a change to a property of the scrape-down lubricating oil and/or changing a feed rate of the lubricating oil into the cylinder based on the amount of acid neutralized may be implemented.
