    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for determining a helper UE group to facilitate communications with a target using sidelinks. A helper UE may determine a sidelink channel correlation with at least one other UE, report to a base station channel diversity information, UE state information, UE traffic pattern information, sidelink channel measurements, and the determined sidelink channel correlation; and receive an indication from the gNB if the UE is a member of a helper UE group. A base station may transmit a control message to at least one UE; receive a report comprising sidelink channel correlation information, sidelink channel diversity information, and UE state information, from each of the at least one UE, in response to transmitting the control message; and determine a helper UE group based on the received report.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for dynamic monitoring and scheduling in retransmission are described for wireless communications. For example, a receiving device may receive a data transmission in a first receiver bandwidth, determine that a data packet of the data transmission was unsuccessfully decoded, switch to a second receiver bandwidth that is wider than the first receiver bandwidth or narrower than the first receiver bandwidth (e.g., based on determining that the data packet was unsuccessfully decoded), and receive a retransmission of the data packet in the second receiver bandwidth. In another example, a transmitting device may schedule a data transmission according to a first receiver bandwidth, receive an indication that a data packet of the data transmission was unsuccessfully decoded, and schedule a retransmission of the data packet according to a second receiver bandwidth that is wider than the first receiver bandwidth or narrower than the first receiver bandwidth.

    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to distributed joint access of an unlicensed sidelink channel. Each sidelink device may perform independent and asynchronous listen before talk (LBT) of the unlicensed sidelink channel with a respective back-off time. The first sidelink device to complete back-off may transmit a joint access synchronization (JAS) signal indicating a duration of time that the unlicensed sidelink channel may be accessed by sidelink devices. Synchronized access sharing of the unlicensed sidelink channel across different active sidelinks may then be achieved through distributed handshake signaling.

    Abstract: User equipments (UEs) may transmit periodic discovery broadcasts to enable another UE to establish a relay connection to a network. When the UEs transmit respective discovery broadcasts, the discovery broadcasts may cause excessive utilization of network or battery resources. In some aspects, described herein, a first UE, based at least in part on failing to receive a periodic discovery broadcast, may transmit a search signal. A second UE may refrain from transmitting periodic discovery broadcasts based at least in part on a first energy metric not satisfying a first energy metric threshold, but may transmit a discovery broadcast as a response to the search signal based at least in part on a second energy metric satisfying a second energy metric threshold, thereby enabling the first UE to establish a connection to a base station using the second UE as a relay.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a negative acknowledgement (NACK) corresponding to a failed communication from a first transmission/reception point (TRP) included in a coordinated multipoint network. The UE may monitor a control channel associated with a second TRP included in the coordinated multipoint network based at least in part on transmitting the NACK, wherein the first TRP and the second TRP use different frequency bands. The UE may receive a retransmission of the failed communication based at least in part on monitoring the control channel. Numerous other aspects are provided.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In an FDD system, a UE may identify an indicator associated with ultra-reliable low latency communications (URLLC) while communicating in a sidelink channel. The UE may also identify dedicated uplink resources in the sidelink channel, and reserve the dedicated uplink resources. The dedicated uplink resources may be reserved for an acknowledgement/negative acknowledgement (ACK/NACK) feedback or for a scheduling request (SR). URLLC data may be communicated, and the reserved uplink resources may be utilized to transmit an ACK/NACK feedback or a SR. In a TDD system, a base station may transmit information identifying dedicated resources for URLLC data. In some cases, a base station may transmit an indicator channel, which a sidelink UE may monitor to determine the presence of URLLC data, and respond accordingly.

For example, symbols of a first handshaking process may be interleaved with symbols of a second handshaking process. In some scenarios, the control information includes request-to-send (RTS) and clear-to-send (CTS) signaling.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A first UE and a second UE may coordinate to establish a sidelink connection. The first UE may identify data to transmit to the second UE, and the first UE may transmit a request to send (RTS) message to the second UE with a first transmit power. The first UE may then determine to refrain from using the first transmit power for the data transmission, and the first UE may transmit the data to the second UE with a second transmit power that is different from the first transmit power. The UE may determine the second transmit power for the data transmission based on instantaneous channel quality information (CQI) received in a clear to send (CTS) message, a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) selected for the data transmission, a threshold power, etc.
