Abstract: Surface-treated copper foils comprising an electrodeposited copper foil including a drum side and a deposited side are reported. The treatment layer is disposed on one of the drum side and the deposited side and provides a surface-treated side. The treatment layer comprises a nodule layer and the surface-treated side exhibits a void volume (Vv) in a range of 0.1 to 0.9 μm3/μm2. The surface-treated copper foil also has a combined hydrogen and oxygen content of less than or equal to 300 ppm.

Abstract: Electrodeposited copper foils possessing properties for manufacturing lithium ion rechargeable secondary batteries are described, including methods of making the electrodeposited copper foils, methods for making the battery, and the resultant battery. The electrodeposited copper foils have a specific burst strength in the range of 1.5 to 4.3 kPa*m2/g and a tensile strength in the range of 30 to 40 kgf/mm2. The deposited side of the electrodeposited copper foil has a surface hardness in the range of 0.2 to about 2.0 Gpa by nano indentation analysis to resist wrinkling during pressing of the active materials on the electrodeposited copper foil. The foil exhibits reduced copper burr formation and burr size after clipping.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an improved, surface-treated copper foil that is resistant to rusting and discoloration. More specifically, the surface-treated copper foil is chromium-free and includes: (a) a copper foil; optionally, (b) a barrier layer on one or both sides of the copper foil, the barrier layer comprising Ni, Zn, Co, Mn, Sn or a mixture thereof; and (c) an organic layer coupled to the one or both sides of the copper foil or one or both barrier layer(s), wherein the sum total of the N, S, and Si elements of the organic layer is more than 5 normalized atomic %.

Abstract: The present invention provides an engineered cyanobacterium, comprising at least one plasmid selected from three novel pathways to produce acetate, which can convert atmospheric carbon dioxide as a raw material into acetate. The present invention also constructs the expression plasmid for three different transporters specific to acetate to be expressed in cyanobacteria, which comprises putative ABC transporter (AatA), succinate/acetate: proton symporter (SatP) and acetate/glycolate: cation symporter (ActP). Therefore, the engineered cyanobacteria of the present invention can produce 0.58 mg/L to 3.54 mg/L of acetate per hour.

Abstract: Extruded films comprising ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) with substantially no blow holes therein, are formed by using a pellet feed to the extruder wherein 90-100 wt. % of the pellets pass through an ASTM size 5 sieve and 0-10 wt. % of the pellets are finer than a number 10 mesh (ASTM Sieve size). Uniform feeding to and through the extruder with a lack of bridging of the EVOH pellet feed have been observed.

Abstract: A method of real-time prognosis of a flooding phenomenon in a packed column includes steps as follows. An online data collection step is conducted, wherein a plurality of values of a pressure drop are collected from the packed column under operation. A detrending step is conducted to obtain a plurality of values of a detrended pressure drop. A fitting step is conducted, wherein the values of the detrended pressure drop are fitted with an EGARCH(p, q) model to obtain a value of at least one of model coefficients. A repeat step is conducted to obtain another value of the at least one of model coefficients. A statistical step is conducted, wherein a value of the monitoring statistic is calculated. A control step is conducted, wherein the value of the monitoring statistic is compared to a control limit.

Abstract: A method for preparing a multi-substituted acrylic acid compound includes steps as follow. A substitution step is conducted, wherein a carbon dioxide is introduced into the intermediate solution so as to obtain the multi-substituted acrylic acid compound.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a copper foil that exhibits surprising low repulsive force characteristics; and to methods for manufacturing such copper foils. Typically, the copper foil has (a) a lightness L* value of the nodule untreated side, based on the L*a*b color system, in the range of 75 to 90 and (b) a normal tensile strength in the range of 40 kgf/mm2 to 55 kgf/mm2. Abstract: A butanol expression cassette includes a butanol production related genes and a fermentation regulatory element. The fermentation regulatory element controls the expression of the butanol production related gene and locates upstream of the butanol production related gene. The fermentation regulatory element includes a promoter, a ribosome binding site and a transcription factor binding site of a fermentation gene. A fermentation in which the fermentation regulatory element involves includes an acetic acid fermentation, an alcohol fermentation, a succinic acid fermentation or a lactic acid fermentation, the butanol production related gene is not the fermentation gene or a gene of an upstream product of the fermentation in which the fermentation gene involves. The present invention provides a recombinant plasmid formed by cloning the butanol expression cassettes in the expression vector. The present invention also provides a butanol production related gene expression method to express butanol production related gene by using recombinant plasmid.
