Abstract:
A decorative sheet includes a decorative base layer; an adhesive layer disposed on a surface of the decorative base layer; and transparent layer disposed on an opposing surface of the base layer from the adhesive layer. The base layer may include up to 50 weight percent inorganic non-combustible filler. The sheet has a reduced heat of combustion or reduced flammability relative to currently available decorative sheets.
Abstract:
Pressure sensitive adhesives containing a cyclic phosphonate ester are described. Methods of preparing such adhesives and articles comprising such adhesives are also described.
Abstract:
A composition includes a resin and a halogen-free flame retardant composition comprising at least a phosphinate or phosphinate salt. Also disclosed are compositions including a resin and a halogen-free flame retardant composition comprising a phosphinate or phosphinate salt and at least one additional material which is substantially free of halogen-containing compounds such as alumina trihydrate and/or magnesium hydroxide. One or more of these compositions may also include an expandable graphite.
Abstract:
Flame retardant adhesives and adhesive tape articles include a halogen-free flame retardant composition comprising a phosphinate or phosphinate salt. The halogen-free flame retardant compositions can also include additional materials, such as alumina trihydrate and magnesium hydroxide, that are substantially free of halogenated compounds or materials.
Abstract:
An electrically insulating film having a total halogen content of about 1% to about 8%, comprising a resin component containing:a) from 0 to about 40 parts of a rubber selected from EP or EPDM rubber,b) correspondingly, from about 60 to about 100 parts of an ethylene vinyl acetate polymer,c) from about 20% to about 40% based on said resin component, of a flame retardant system comprisingi) from about 5 to about 25% of a bromine containing flame retardant,ii) from about 1.5% to about 10% of an antimony containing flame retardant, andiii) from 1% to about 20% of a flame retardant selected from granular metal oxide hydrates, wherein said flame retardant system has a ratio of metal oxide hydrate to bromine of no more than about 3;said film being free of vinyl chloride wherein a nonoriented film self-extinguishes in less than about 5 seconds, has an elongation at break of at least about 500%, a dielectric strength of at least about 1200 V/Mil, and a stress-strain curve having a wholly positive slope.
