The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display comprising a conductive pressure sensitive adhesive layer. The present invention may provide a liquid crystal display which may prevent malfunction of devices by static electricity generated in preparation or use procedures even without using the ITO layer conventionally formed between the upper substrate and a polarizer in a liquid crystal panel for an antistatic purpose, and has excellent physical properties such as endurance reliability under high temperature or high humidity condition and optical characteristics.

The present invention relates to an acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive composition comprising (meth)acrylic copolymers including alkyl(meth)acrylic acid ester monomer having 1˜12 carbon atoms of alkyl group, characterized in that the gel content is 10˜55%, the swelling ratio is 30˜110, the weight average molecular weight of sol eluted from the adhesive by ethyl acetate is at least 800,000, the molecular weight distribution is 2.0˜7.0; and a polarizer and a liquid crystal display comprising the above composition show excellent durability under a high temperature and humidity condition, and can improve the light leakage phenomenon and provide excellent operability at the time of manufacturing polarizer by effectively providing high modulus and stress release property.

Disclosed are (A) an acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive; and (B) an acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive comprising an optically anisotropic compound having at least one substituent which contains an alkyl group, alkenyl group or alkynyl group at a meta-position of a mesogen. A polarizing plate and a liquid crystal display using the same are also disclosed. The optically anisotropic compound ensures excellent compatibility with the adhesive and high birefringence. Thus, main properties such as adhesion, reliability and durability in the conditions of high temperatures or high temperatures and high humidity are not worsened. Moreover light leakage is prevented by efficiently controlling the birefringence caused by shrinkage stress of the polarizing plate.

Provided is an acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for a polarizing film comprising an acrylic copolymer copolymerized from (meth)acrylic ester monomers having different glass transition temperatures.The acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive composition of the present invention can minimize the problem of light leakage due to shrinkage or expansion of a polarizing film attached to a liquid crystal display panel because it has very superior stress relaxation ability while maintaining superior major properties such as adhesion durability, cuttability, etc.
