Abstract: An agglomeration process in which clay fines alone or in combination with other materials are agglomerated to a usable pellet size for a variety of marketable end products. The clay fines are collected, prepared and blended with conditioners and/or other waste materials in the proportions necessary to produce the desired pellet characteristics. The blended materials are preweighed and measured, permitting batch feeding to the agglomerator. The agglomerated pellets are dried and screened, with the oversize pellets being passed through a granulator to reduce their size and then being rescreened, and the undersized pellets being recycled to the collecting step for reagglomeration. Hence, the process provides pellets of relatively uniform size with little or no waste from the agglomeration procedure. The pellets may be impregnated or coated with a variety of substances, including fertilizers, pesticides, odor reducing substances, and colorants to provide a variety of different end products, including cat box filler, fertilizers, soil conditioners and floor absorbent.

Abstract: According to one exemplary embodiment, a system for processing transactions is provided that comprises a transaction processing circuit configured to receive transaction data relating to one or more transactions for the purchase of software applications from a digital application store. The transaction processing circuit is further configured to apply one or more business rules to the transaction data and to generate one or more transaction summary files. The transaction summary files are transmitted to a payment system configured to perform, based on the transaction summary files, at least one of recording revenue related to the transactions and causing payment to be distributed to developers of the software applications. At least a portion of the transaction processing circuit is implemented using a shared, scalable computing system. A level of resources of the shared, scalable computing system requested for implementation of the transaction processing circuit is varied based on a volume of transactions processed by the transaction processing system.

Abstract: A number N of position sensors, each associated with one of N shift rails in a shift rail transmission system, wherein the set of N sensors is divided into subsets and each subset is provided a common reference from a control module; and a processing component that determines from data from each sensor whether the shift rail associated with that sensor is in a position of engagement of a first gear, a position of engagement of a second gear, or in a neutral position.Further, providing a first common reference to a first set of shift rail position sensors; providing a second common reference to a second set of shift rail position sensors; receiving sensor data from each position sensor; determining that the data from the first set of position sensors is unreliable; and operating a transmission using only the gears related to the position sensors in the second set.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that facilitates accessing a credential. During operation, the system receives a request at a credentials-storage framework (CSF) to retrieve the credential. If a target credential store containing the credential is not already connected to the CSF, the system looks up a bootstrap credential for the target credential store in a bootstrap credential store, which contains bootstrap credentials for other credential stores. Next, the system uses this bootstrap credential to connect the CSF to the target credential store. Finally, the system retrieves the credential from the target credential store, and returns the credential to the requestor.
