Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, assemblies, and methods for diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) dosing can include a body defining an injector adaptor inlet and an injector adaptor outlet; and an injector mount or interface extending from the body. The injector mount can be between the first and second ends of the injector adaptor. The injector adaptor outlet can define an area greater than an area of the injector adaptor inlet. In a side view of the injector adaptor, at a bottom side of the body, a first straight line can extend along the body from the injector adaptor inlet to the injector adaptor outlet, and at a top side of the body opposite the bottom side, a second straight line can extend along the body from the injector adaptor inlet to the injector adaptor outlet. The second straight line can be at an acute angle relative to the first straight line.

Abstract: A dual mixer for mixing a reducing agent with exhaust gas in a mixing section of a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) aftertreatment system is disclosed. The dual mixer may comprise a first mixer including a grid and a plurality of trapezoidal fins projecting from the grid in a direction of flow of the exhaust gas. The dual mixer may further comprise a swirl mixer positioned downstream of the first mixer and separated therefrom by a distance. The swirl mixer may include a base and three arrays of swirl fins projecting from the base in the direction of flow of the exhaust gas. The swirl fins in each of the arrays may be oriented in a common direction that is rotated by about 60° from the common direction of the swirl fins in an adjacent array.

Abstract: An exhaust aftertreatment system is disclosed. The exhaust aftertreatment system includes a premixer conduit that defines an exhaust flow path, a baffle disposed in the exhaust flow path, and a reductant injector in fluid communication with the exhaust flow path. The baffle is positioned in the premixer conduit, which includes a premixer inlet, a transition section, and a premixer outlet. The transition section is disposed between the premixer inlet and the premixer outlet. The premixer inlet is in fluid communication with the engine. The reductant injector is positioned downstream of the baffle and upstream of the premixer outlet.

Abstract: A mounting assembly for an injector is located in a curved portion of an exhaust line having an exhaust flow from an upstream end to a downstream end. The mounting assembly includes an indent extending at least partially into the exhaust line curved portion and disposed in the exhaust flow. The downstream wall has an interior surface oriented to substantially face the exhaust line downstream end. A recess extends from the downstream wall in a direction away from the exhaust line downstream end, and a recess aperture is formed in the recess and configured to fluidly communicate with the injector. The recess reduces the amount of exhaust heat reaching the injector tip.

Abstract: An exhaust system is provided. The exhaust system includes an exhaust conduit having a protuberance thereon. A reductant injector is provided on the protuberance. The reductant injector is positioned such that an ejection tip of the reductant injector is inclined with respect to a centerline of the exhaust conduit. A baffle assembly is coupled to an inner wall of the exhaust conduit. The baffle assembly is positioned upstream of the ejection tip of the reductant injector. A first plate of the baffle assembly is positioned parallel to the centerline of the exhaust conduit. A second plate of the baffle assembly extends from the first plate. The second plate is positioned angularly with respect to the first plate. The baffle assembly is configured to deflect at least a portion of an exhaust gas flow over the ejection tip of the reductant injector.
